Hello everyone,

I have posted twice before and I read the forum daily. All of you are inspiration to me to quit my habit. Although I still use Lorcet 10/650s on a regular basis I am almost ready to quit. Currently I have cut back from 10 Lorcet 10/650s daily to 6. I still cannot get myself to taper any further. I have two Doctors that are aware of my addiction that allow me to get refills because of herniated discs I had in my back in April of last year. They do not know that my back is completely better. My straight appearance and job allow me to ask for the meds and they are given to me. Boy am I screwed. I just cannot dig deep enough to kick this habit. My wife knows of my addiction and is awesome in supporting me when I am ready. Up to this point my life has been unaffected by my addiction. I know that I need to stop before I lose the important things in my life. Will a 60mg Lorcet habit for 18 months be hard to kick? What am I actually in store for as I WD? Please can you all give me some answers?

I just wanted to put in a vote for BMAC (Bill) as the biggest wealth of information on this board. Bill, you have inspired me and I am now on my 10th day of NO OPIATES or any other narcotics. You have truly been my inspiration and I thank you VERY much. Oh, and you too Thomas! :}
             Sincerely,

Well...
Well!
Well?

It is 1:12a.m. CST at the moment that I write this... Things are going "Great" with my Aunt regarding her detoxing. In one month she's successfully tapered from 200MGs+ MS Contin, to Vicodin, To Ultram and finally completely OFF all opiates by Saturday a.m.
She was already taking Klonopin, so I believe that did, in fact, help her immensely with the MAJOR withdrawal symptoms. I'm VERY proud of her.... at 61 years old to change the "Lifestyle" has gotta' be a hard thing to do! She got on the pain meds originally for a nerve inpingement at L4 and L5 in the spinal cord. About 1 Month ago, had a successful operation to releive the nerve pressure, and since the operation was a "Success", the weaning off opiates was a neccessity to find out what level of pain still exits. It is looking good at this point, so I am pretty happy.....

Soooo, for all of you out there with Legitimate pain issues, I just wanted to relate that story as a beacon of hope. It's never too late, and surgery does turn out for the good in some cases!

Oh, and Skip: Howya doing? And where are my 3.3 MegaPixel pictures of your foot operation that were promised?!

GWH: How are YOU? Was the weekend good for you? Find any Methadone?

Groovy: How come you sent GWH a pic, and not ME? All this talk of how GORGEOUS you are has raised MY eyebrows... Yes, I know you're involved with your man, but I gotta see ya nonetheless!(are you embarassed yet?)
(Send to: ***@****) If you DO send a pic, I will return the favor with an officially licensed and AUTOGRAPHED photo of myself.

SmokeThisVette: Where have YOU been lately?! I'm beginning to miss your posts....

Alexandra_R: How goes it with you? I hope your husband is recovering well from his Heart Attack... You guys are in my prayers!

Hippy: How's the Tennis-Elbow today? If the Ibuprofen stops working as well, I found that Naproxin (Aleve) works even better. Just take triple the recommended dose, and it is "Prescription strength" -- *Keep in mind that in recommending that high dose, I'm assuming that you don't have any Kidney or liver problems!

It's Too late to get to ALL you guys, so I'll just sign off NOW, and wish everyone a "Painfree" night!

CHeers!

Thanks alot.I am just another addict that decided to stop
using. The only thing that I can say for myself is that
I did this without support except for this forum and God.
It's been 34 days now and I couldn't imagine having to do it again. That's what keeps me from taking anymore.I don't ever want to go thru this hell again.Being straight isn't so bad.
Thanks again!

not). i haven't done much with setting up an e-mail account at
home yet. i especially apoligise to ricky, as he really wants to
put a face to my rambling posts...jess, your just a pervert that
wants to see bone being surgically removed from my toe...that's
as sick as someone who would take that kind of picture...oh yeah,
i showed the those pictures to my foot doc's partner, and he was
quite impressed with their quality! i cant remember the name of
this artist who was a nobody, but making a living doin illustrat-
ions for medical text books. anyhow he frost bit his toes real
bad. the resulting gang-green caused his toes to rot off on the instalment plan.so this guy achieves fame doing a daily study of his toes rotting off. wow talk about courage and deication to your
art!
