this has to be the time

this has to be the time

on my third day off roxycodone 30's and oxy 80's. Hasn't really been much easier since day one. Walking in circles and thinking about the woman I love that I lost because of these things. She gave me chance after chance and all I did was lie to her face that I wasn't using. I realize now how much of a problem I really have. Going cold turkey and this has to be the time. Just worried I'll get to day 7 or 8 and tell myself it can be done and go right back to my past. Trying to stay strong in hopes a better life waits for me on the other side

Congrats on 3 days!!  You are doing great so keep it going.  Have you thought about any type of aftercare?  Using is just a symptom of what is going on......There is a whole new life waiting for you.

Your in the worst of it right now. One thing you should think about is getting aftercare lined up. Getting clean is one thing but staying clean is another. NA meetings or a therapist, whichever you choose - or even both! But to try and "white knuckle" it will not work. You said yourself your worried you'll hit day 8 and start feeling a bit better and think "ahh one won't hurt" That's what happens to a lot of us. In aftercare you'll get the tools you need to stay clean. Support is very important and you owe it to yourself to not suffer in vain. This addiction has robbed you of enough. Get the best odds at staying clean going for you and line up some care now. If you google it, you can find an NA meeting tonight to go to if your up to it. If not wait another day or two when your feeling better and then go. Just make sure aftercare is in your immediate future or chances are you will go back. I learned the hard way (the only way I seem to learn!!) that I NEED aftercare to stay clean. I'm doing a quick taper from sub and the cravings are rough. So I'm going to a meeting tonight to get some support. You'll meet some great people in the program and they have all been in your shoes and will help you stay clean. Congrats on taking your life back!!

I really think that aftercare is the way to go. I know I don't want to take any medication because I really just want to be free of all substances. Thankyou for the advice. I will be looking up local meetings when I get back from vacation which I start tommorow. That could also be my saving grace because I have no way of getting my hands on them for 7 days. Keep you guys and gals posted. You all might be a huge part of getting me through this mess. I thankyou. God bless all of you for your support and your dealing with your own addiction.

I walked from the 80's and 30's Dec 31..You can do this..First 4 days are the worst then its kinda a holding pattern of mixed feeling, aches, some anxiety for the next 10 to 12 days thats there but not horrible..Takes about three weeks to really notice change you honestly feel,,which actually talks to you inside,,that makes you feel even better.

.I'm close to 50 days away from them and got another nice comment out of the blue from my sister in law that I haven't seen since Fall when I was really getting deep with daily mg use..Around 400... She says she can see the change in me..A brightness that wasn't there before...Just keep counting days. Pick up some melatonin and valerian root and B-12 suppliments. They will help with the lingering insomnia...Go for it...
