I am a recent x-user of heroin. And have been going through a lot of the symptoms you experience after the harsh withdrawals. Like pain throughout the day, no appetite, restlessness, the works.
I have used tramadol frequently before and it definitely can be just like oxycodone. The good news is, it is a lot easier to come off of when you taper down. Some doctors don't see it the same because they haven't had to face an addiction in the same way you have. I understand the problems that occur when you stop using those type of substances and that is why I said taper down. It will help with the mood swings and usage habits if you choose to break the pill in half and take just half as needed then a quarter as needed and so on until you just take a quarter a day for a couple days - a week. I am saying take only that small amount for an extended period of time because I know the habit of wanting to take a pill and the mental fixation it can give. At that point it should give you a chance to not take anything without interrupting your mental and physical state so directly.
What has helped me as of right now since I am adjusting physically and mentally is small steps like working out in smaller ways when I wake up. It's challenging since my body feels so weak, but it actually makes me feel really good.. I am doing sets of 12 push-UPS and stretching in between. Once the weather gets a little warmer I will start running some.
Reading articles of interests you used to like before I used and books are really great too. They can help get yourself back to feeling like the old or new you again.
Eat well, start taking vitamins(even if its just one a day), and give your body some help.
Those are just some easy coverage tips for some addiction and opioid issues

I was addicted to trams for about 5 years, I was taking around 50 or more per day. I know exactly what your going thru. For me, the withdrawals didn't ease up until around day 30. They are hell to come off of!! But it can be done, I'm 5 years clean, and it's so nice not having those pills consuming my every thought. Tapering is the way to go with these pills, I couldn't do that because I ran out and had no access (or money) to get anymore. So I went from 50 pills one day to 0 the next. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that it will be hard, but it can be done, you gotta stay strong and remember there is sooooo much more to life than these stupid pills. Everyday gets better!! Stay strong:)

Hello and Welcome! I am sure people that have a lot more experience with Tramadol will be stopping in later, the weekend can be a little slow. Tramadol is an opiate, even though it is one of the weaker ones, and it also has an SSRI in it, you may want to sift through others' posts about Tramadol withdrawal. We cannot give you taper advice, maybe you can talk to your Dr. about a taper schedule. I was on Suboxone for 3 years and my Dr. told me it was a miracle drug and I would have no withdrawal, HA! Here I am 68 days clean and still experiencing some minor W/D symptoms. Stick around and keep posting, you will receive a lot of support here. Good Luck and Good Health to you!
