tramadol detox

by robby6486, Apr 03, 2009 11:39AM
I have been taking Tramadol(50mg) for about four months now, I usually take anywhere from 8-12 a day... I used to go to a Methadone Treatment Facility to  get off of painkillers.... The reason i started taking Tramadol was because i thought it was non-addictive... it helps me perform better at work and gives me extra energy, i do not have a rx for this drug, get from a friend... but just this last week i started feeling the withdrawl symptoms when i didn't take it for one day: fever, bodyaches, nausea, cold chills, lack of all energy. i dont have any insurance so there is no way i can ask a dr. for advice...  is there any home remedy for this detox... i really wanna get off of this drug...

thank you for your help,
Robby

Be very careful with tramadol withdrawl. I have severe seizures when I CT from tramadol. It can be very dangerous. I do not mean to scare you, but you need to be aware of this. Is there anyway you could taper? It would be much safer if you could. I am sure others will come along to offer more advice. Stay strong! Best wishes.

Tapering is best.  Please pm Avisg.  She can give you advice on a tapering plan.
Expect to still have the withdrawal symptoms you are describing, but, I promise you it will get better.  I am clean from Tramadol for one year and 2 months and life looks much better without the Tramadol haze.
Be patient with yourself.  Lots of baths and get outside for fresh air and a brisk walk.  That helped me a lot.
