tramadol for opiate withdraw

tramadol for opiate withdraw

I have been taking percocet for omg years now. i had a baby 2 yrs ago! when i found out i was pregnant i stopped takking perks. That was the longest I ever stopped for. Before a month ago I had 3 months clean. Why i picked up again idk...well i guess i do i thought i could do one just once and it was ok for a couple days and then it was just weekends and then eventually it was everyday again. i am over this i am so tired on depending on a pill for energy.

so my question is i just came across tramadol. so i was wondering if this will help with WD?
if so how do i take it? should i take methodone for a couple days then tramadol or right to tramadol?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

hello and welcome to MH.
taking tramadol or methadone will just be crossing over to another addiction.
you can stop the madness.
flush the pills. you will go through withdrawals. it seems you have been there before.
seek counseling, one on one and support groups.
with addicts one pill is too many and a thousand is never enough.
you can do this.
stop this addiction madness, the insanity roller coaster, the revolving door.
without counseling you will most likely continue to relapse.
pray for strength to do what needs to be done.
we will encourage you and help you.

Please dont take either one of those meds.  You will be just adding fuel to the fire.  There are other things you can do that will help ease the wd's.  Look at the health pages here as there is alot of info in there along with the amino acid protocol.  Check into some sort of recovery care.  Using is just a symptom of what is going on.  You dont have to be a prisoner any longer to these pills.  We are here for support so lean on us~~sara

When I was in the hospital they gave me tramadol. I had no issues with it not saying it worked or didnt going through withdrawls you feel like nothing helps ( atlest me)  but I stayed long enough to detox once withdrawls were over I came home been clean since. I dont think you should take anything without seeing a doc first.  My issues were first pills ( perks, soma, oxy's) then for a year herion and anything else I could get my hands on. I've been clean since @ 6/15/11
