tramadol help

I have been trying to get off of tramadol for some time now.  I am donw to 50-75mf twice a day, but am having touble getting any lower.  Is there any "quick fix". I just cant bare the side effects and the thought of continuing the slow taper process is too much!!
I do have some vicodine in thew house, FYI I suffer from SEVERE leg pain, but the addicitoion and withdrawl symptoms are worse.
Will taking a certain amount of the vicodine for a spevified amount of time in place of the tram help?  Any other recs.
Thanks in advance!

as far as me coming off tramadol, i'm doing pretty well.  i'm at 7 a day and I used to take 14 a day.  i'm thankful that its been this easy so far, even tho I did have withdrawals for a week when I first dropped from 14 right to 8 per day, but now I feel fine.  they say the lower u get the harder it is tho.

Unfortunately there is no easy way in this battle. I have tapered down from bebetween 18-30 tramadol a day over the last 4+yrs, down to one tablet a day over the past 3 wks. I started my taper taking 4 tabs twice a day and went down a little every couple days. Its not easy. But some things do help. Vitamin b12 and melatonin have been a lifesaver for me. Im a full time working mom so my life stays very busy and it has been rough but ive managed to make it happen while living my regular life. U really just have to accept that ur gonna feel like crap for a while and get it done. Ive managed to build up such a disgust for these pills and this life that I knew I was gonna do whatever it took to get it done. Here I am taking only 1 tab daily and I only have a few days left until ill be completely done and im not scared im excited! Yes im in pain and yes im exhausted and depressed at times and ny energy is lacking BUT I kno all of this is only temporary and I have the rest of my life to get back to where I used to be before I was an addict. Take it easy on urself this is hard! But ur fighting for your life! Unfortunately theres no easy way out. Just hard work, determination and a positive mindset. Juat remember were in this together! U got this!

the vicodin will help with the physical withdrawal but then u will have to taper off the vicodin.  either way if u go cold turkey ur gonna have withdrawal I think.  I'm sure others will chime in soon with more experience.

Lord this is a tough one...and I really don't have any advice because I am also doing a taper off tramadol and i'm at 7 pills a day.  Good job getting down that low, though!  I know its hard.  I read someplace where u cam mix a half a pillwith water in a water bottle in order to get smaller doses...or mix with some liquid u get at the pharmacy to make it liquid.  then u just drink some throughout the day.  I can try to find the link if ur interested.  also a lot of ppl haved jumped off at that doseage and higher.  either way its going to be hard for a while until u have a chance for ur brain to recover and start producing its own feel good hormones.  sorry I cant be more help.  I will be in the same boat one of these days myself.
