The tram can cause seizures.probably the high dosage you were taking.
I'm not sure I understand - did you have the seizure while still on the tramadol or was this after you quit?
Hi & Welcome,
If you are 3 days without the Tramadol there is a good chance you are out of the woods in the seizure department but keep an eye on anything that you feel is funny. You know your body best.
I am glad you found your way here and are reaching out for help. The amount that you were taking is beyond ridiculous and I don't know how much longer you could have gone on.
The aches and pains are probably rebound pain and will disappear within a few days--a week tops. Motrin does help. Also, take hot baths to soothe the aching muscles. Make sure you stay hydrated and get some food in you.
It is quiet here on the weekends so be patient as more members come in.
I wish you the best.
First Tramadol is an opiate and very addictive. Stopping abruptly will cause seizures as you well know. I don't have much experience with Tram but I have PM someone that does. So hang in there and they will respond with much more info than I can give you.
I've abused tramadol as well in the past and that was only because I couldn't get a hold of other pills. Never had legitimate pain either, just get high.
It is said that tramadol aka ultrum is a synthetic opiate with some antidepressent in it? so I imagine you will be going through withdrawals. You may have had a panic attack?
The good news for you is you have help and as a nurse you are in the know yourself. They say tapering is best but if you feel descent enough to continue cold turkey doing so might be better at this point. Just start to plan to go through withdrawals for a few days. There's lots of help here and people who care.
Take some ibuprofen for the aches. I'm sure you're son is more happy that you are ok than anything else. Try to stay positive for him.
Also I hear ya on the two weeks appt.... I hate to go political here but the healthcare system is broken here.
