tramadol withdrawal

I am on day 2 of 600 per day tramadol withdrawal;  intestinal, anxiety (worst!), sneezing (always in twos and very violent and frequent); yawning, ears hearing the "whish..whish, whish...".  Can anyone out there tell me how long this is going to last?  I have to work 12 hours tomorrow.   Is this going to get worse before it gets better?  I have been on tramadol for 3 years now.  Thanks.

thank you for your answer.  I had to call into work this morning as the shakes and icey cold sweating thing is clearly visible.  (I'm a nurse in a hospital).  I'm going to walk into my PCP this morning when he opens and ask for and emergent visit to talk to him and let him know where I am.  He was out of the office yesterday and the covering called me in 6 ($10) phenergan.  I was hallucinating yesterday afternoon and couldn't stop the jerking and crawling feelings -- just cried out of frustration.  thank you for your anser Ella I will look up the thomas recipe.  God bless.   Carla.

Wow!!  I am glad your are ok, seizures are pretty dang scarey!  The clonidine will help why didn't they give you that TOO!  It helps keep you in your "skin" and stablizes the blood pressure, I wish you had some of those.   Immodium and tums, or mylanta, heating pad, hot baths or showers, calming teas.  I hear Tram is horrible too,  I was addicted to lortab for abt 5 yrs.  I am glad you are being monitored!  Ask for clonidine, if you can take that for help with w/d.

Hugs

Went to Dr this am.  He gave me twelve clonopin and sent me to behavioral health.  They said I was not medically stable and was in danger if seizures because I stopped ultram and clonopin at the same time. (what was I thinking).  Doc said, "YOU THINK THIS FEELS BAD, WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW WHEN THE CLONOPIN WEARS OFF -- YOU'LL BEG FOR DEATH'.  I'm gladd I went.  I'm going to take a hot bath; broil up some shark steaks and white rice and cover myself with barley hot socks for the pain.  They want to see me again tomorrow and again next week until they feel I'm medically stable.  Thank you both for your comments.  I can't believe how many of us there are out there withdrawing from tram!  Who can we contact to get this drug re-classified?  Anyone have any ties to the legal community?  They could run with this one...

God Bless,,,Carla

Typiclly day four is the worst, then starts to get better. Look at it like you have the flu, would you be able to do your job if you had it. If you can then go to work if not you may need a day or so off. Good luck and congrats on try'n to get clean its so worth the pain.
