Thanks so much for Ur thoughts, i broke one in half then half again that's all I've had so hopefully I can handle it this weekend, I think after the first couple days of Withdrawls and I can handle it without them I will just throw the rest away. Idk how u did that cold turkey but knowing u did, makes me think I need to just suck it up and deal with it I know it could be a lot worse. My moms been an addict since I can remember to countless drugs, I know the longer your on them the more they control your mind, and they come before everything

Yes, unless you have other health problems.  If you question it though, call your doc.  Good luck! : )

Actually, as long as you don't have any other health issues (serious stuff like heart problems) you can quit opiates cold turkey.  And at this point, with just the 1 50 mg pill of tramadol a day, I think you're okay to just jump off now.

I was too stupid at the time when I quit tramadol to taper and I was taking a LOT more than you - up to 20+ pills (50 mg) a day.  And I quit cold turkey - and it was AWFUL.  I had no idea about the risk of seizure so it was only sheer luck that I didn't have one.  I also quit xanax on the same day cold turkey - again, a seriously STUPID move on my part as it is NEVER safe to quit a benzo cold turkey.  How the heck I made it out alive I have no idea.

But I do think it's best at the end of the day to check with your Dr. before jumping off.  I don't think it would be a real issue given the small amount you're currently taking, but it's always best to be safe rather than sorry!

Good luck to you - and congrats as well for deciding to get off this poison.  It was the BEST decision of my life I can tell you that - and I know it will be for you too.  Feel free to message me if you have any questions as you move forward.  I'm happy to share my experiences with you.  :)

Hey absolutely no kind of medicine that a person is addicted to should not stop cold turkey. The gain doesnt beat the risk. Quiting anything cold turkey is dangerous.

I'm tapering but my patience is running thin, I just want it to end now, the only other pill I have is methadone and from what I've read people are using tramadol to get off methadone. I weigh 110 female 32 I want to go cold turkey but I'm afraid of seizures and no one knows of this addiction

The first time I kicked I was taking about 15 levorphanol per day about 30-40mg depending if they were the 2mg pills or the 4mg I was 40years old an 180 and those withdrawals were rough but manageable . Tramadol is somewhat pharmacologically similar to levorphanol (albeit with much lower μ-agonism), Might be best to start a taper first, from what I've read withdrawals from tramadol can cause seizures.

If you can handle the Wd's, and probably 5-7 days of feeling lousy. The extend of those withdrawals can be be based on any # of factors i.e Age, weight... 50mg a day is going to affect a 100lbs person differently then a 200lb person same for a Age a Twenty year old tends to rebound quicker then a 40-50 year old.
