You can do it! I've tapered down from 12 tabs/day to currently 1 tab, or 50 mg's broken in half, this afternoon, the next/last half before i go to bed tonight. It took me about 63 days to get to this new lower tapering dosage, but I did. SimonSue has also been successful tapering down to next to almost nothing, and so can you! If you have the determination, will and a supply of Tram's you too can do it. There were periods of anixety and lack of sleep for sure, but determination and willpower is Everything. I also used the Thomas recipe, and fwiw, i also take xanax so that helped too. An OTC antihistimine also helped somewhat in helping me sleep at night as well helping to take off some of the edge from the anxiety. Actually, the ingredient in the common otc antihistamines which promotes drowsyness is called Diphenhydramine HCL, which is also sold in by itself as a sleep aid @ Wallmart under the Equate Brand name @ 50mg gel Liquidcaps for about $4 for 32 dosages. Great stuff, it ehlped out alot, but I would also alternate it with melatonum, imo a very powerful and natural otc remedy that also aids in sleep and is non-addictive physically.
Also, I went to a few NA meetings and quickly learned about how denial can be a bad thing when it comes to rehabbing, plus I was motivated by others to keep marching forward
on what turned out to be a not so difficult goal!
It's all in mind, and you can do it!
Also, imo, a tapering schedule is also very important to follow, revising it as you go as you better learn what works for you. I myself have extensive notes of all meds taken, including otc since my first day of tapering back in early November and was reviewing them daily to figure out the best schedule for me. Remember, you too can do it!
Best of Luck!

Just wanted to say I'm currently taking 7-8/day before I found out I was preg I was taking over 10/d. Ultram does lower the bodies seizure threshold. It's something I always worry about.Seizure risk is real esp @ lg doses.I try my darned to keep it under 8/day no matter what. Good luck on the taper. C/T is hell from the little devils, they still have me in their grip!!Good luck

I wanted to add that I know I have a problem. I started pills for actual pain and now only take them for the high. Everytime I taper down and I'm doing good for a week, I get bored and think "well I'll take 4 at once, just this once". Well we all know how that goes. Next thing I know I'm going from taking 6 a day back to 15 or more. But I am ready to stop.
