omg, trazodone is amazing stuff.  is 150mg a whole pill?  ok wait i just looked at my bottle and i have 50mg pills.  if i took a whole one, i'd sleep for like 1.5 days.  i suggest maybe not taking so much.  you should be able to split the pills.  i take 25mg or sometimes 12.5mg (split into quarters).  the only "side effect" i've noticed is that i have no memory of what happened for 30-60 minutes before i fell asleep, when i wake up the next morning.

Is that something that differs from person to person??  I know I've seen a lot of ppl writing about Lunesta having a funny/bad taste.  I've been taking the Lunesta for over 3 months now, everynight, and I have never experienced a bad taste.  I was just having trouble staying asleep since I had my back surgery.  I think it works wonderfully at fixing my problem, but I will say I have experienced a couple of the "not likely, but possible" side effects from it.  If I don't sleep the full 8 hours they recommend, I wake up with a horrible migraine.  Also, I've noticed I have terrible nightmares.  I mean, everyone has an occasional nightmare, but this began almost as soon as I started taking it and continues quite frequently.  The last, and probably scariest, side effect I've experienced is having memory lapses ("black outs" is the term my doc used).  It's not often, but it does happen.  Now that I'm thinking about it, it just happened to me again last night.  I'll go for periods (an hour, maybe 2) where I have no recollection of anything.  It's like I was asleep or something.  I don't remember anything.

Then again, just so everyone understands, most of the side effects I'm having are listed under the information about Lunesta, but my doc thinks it has something to do with all the medication I'm taking.  I take 18 pills everyday, 10 different prescriptions.  So, I was just wondering about the bad taste and if anyone else has experienced some of the side effects I have.

i know i am late reading your question about trazadone, my ex-husband, a physician, gave me trazadone for sleeping, stay away from them.  Along with the nasty taste they leave in your mouth, the drug builds up in your body, once I woke to use the restroom and my knees buckled underneath me.  I was taking 10 mg once nightly.
If you have to use something to sleep Ambien CR once in a while is the best.  Most of the time try exercising during the day, meditation at night, sex, alternative actions will help you sleep, you just have to get out of your mind that you need a pill.
I cherish my sleep, all 8 hours every night, but if something is keeping me awake, i get out of bed and listen to music, meditate, clean.  Loosing a night sleep won't hurt you at all, it's the trazadone that will hurt you.  For what it's worth

I've never taken trazadone before, Josh..but I did tried Lunesta. Did it work for you? If it did..I can tell you one way to reduce the taste. Take a full glass of water..drink half...then swallow the pills with the last half of water. It works for some reason. May work for you. I use AmbienCR occasionally now.
