OH! And another thing- I almost forgot, hun! You asked if when you use it regularly, if you won't become addicted?
I NEVER abused Ultram/Tramadol, EVER for the entire two years I was on it- They had me on 3 a day, I'd only take between 2 and 3. Until a year and 10 months later, I started to experience 'tolerance withdrawal' which means your body is now immune to the drug, and it wants more! Trust me, my body built an immunity to that garbage not even two weeks after I was on it, but my doc kept telling me that I may be on it for many years because of the damage done to my back- well, guess what? No more for me- which is another reason I went to the doc today to let her know that I no longer needed their services! All they ever did was slap a script of trams in my hand and sent me on my merry little way, living in misery.. sure they make ya feel good, ALL drugs like that will make ya feel good and have some energy- but it's not worth it when ya start having the withdrawals, even when you're NOT coming off of it!
I hope this will help you.. I really do.. I've had experience with it..
Best of luck!

yea really.. My doc asked me, today, to rate my pain.. know what I told her?? "Pain?? Ha! I feel NO pain right now compared to what the meds have DONE TO ME!" Yes, Ultram/Tramadol is so dang addictive it's sick! It acts as an Opioid agonist- many reasons why people should be MORE aware before taking ANY pain meds, antidepressants, etc etc..
I use Ibuprofen 800, then alternate with Tylenol, but that's only when I desperately need it- I feel NO pain compared to what the tramadol has done to me!
But, freedom at last! I can quite frankly say that I'll never touch another chemical again! :D
I hope you'll reconsider the Tramadol! Love to all!
Alli
P.S. I may be having withdrawals, but I'm happy- simply because I am no longer under the control of a drug; I may be having insomnia, but that's just fine- only because I'm taking my life back; I'm sitting here with ice running through the veins, but I'm lovin' it! ONLY because I'm going to be fine and I'm going to be ME again!
---just some encouragement that helps ME---
No! Don't take it! I started taking tramadol and you don't even notice it's addictive until it's too late. And what really sucks is -for me at least- it was almost completely a physical addiction. And when you stop taking them your in more pain than when you started.
I was just wondering if the euphoria is what caused most people to become addicted or if was the withdraw symptoms. I am not seeking info about whether or not it causes euphoria. I appreciate your advice and will talk with my doc about contraindication with being on Zoloft. I have 2 children and a husband that I need to be here for and do not need anymore health problems, so I have decided not to use ultram but so unsure what to do about the pain until I have my surgery. I have not had any problems with addiction in the past but I was concerned because I know lortab is addictive
My doc said that anit-depresents make it worse for seizure like avis said. At 4:15 Ak time (which is 4 hrs behind EST) will be 48 hrs for me with no trams. W/d's do suck. Couldn't really sleep. I would for like 10 min then wake up feeling like my body was on fire and all clamy feeling and still getting those jolt like feelings in my brain. I see the doc today, and will talk to him about that. Thank God I'm not gettting RLS, at least not yet. I have a great support system and they helps a lot. Good luck, dani.
dani,
its addictive i don't really think we need to discuss whether we get high or not .........you should not have been put on it if you are on an antidepressant it really makes your risks of seizure much higher .
If you have any more questions try Looking for MSSHELLS posts her sister died when she OD on tram......
