Hi there!  R2R is completely correct. When dealing with a baby, honesty is seriously the best option. If you are honest with your OB, and tell him about your problem then he is obligated to help you and do everything possible to make sure the baby is as comfortable as possible. I was on Subutex when I had my second baby and he was born healthy and fine. No withdrawls, thank God!! I was honest and my sub. doctor and my OB were on the same page. Also, if you go off of hydro two weeks before you'll have withdrawls, depending on your use, and they could be bad enough to hurt the baby. Possibly put him/her in distress. You definetely don't want them finding out the hard way because then, as much as you love your baby and care for him/her, they can and probably will take the baby away thinking that if you were negligent in your pre-natal care and why would you take care of him/her now? Let the doctors give you peace of mind because none of us can tell you what to do..You can message me if you'd like. Don't be scared, I know I was...but telling truth was the best thing I ever did. Good luck!!

My son's girlfriend took vicoden the entire time she was pregnant with their son. They were prescribed by her ob doctor. why i don't know, but the baby was born with them in his system and he went through withdraw just like an adult would. It is not a pretty site,  please tell your doctor so he can help you. as previous stated, CPS will be called and there is the possiblity you will lose your child. i don't mean to scare you but this is serious and you need to be up front with your doctor now instead of later. pm me if you need to talk

I was also prescribed Vicodin by my OB and he also delivered my baby. CPS did get involved and actually took my son yesterday in between breast feeding in the NICU. My whole family is devastated but they are convinced I was abusing the medication somehow and how I have to go to court to fight to get him back. They looked at me like I was smoking crack in the delivery room..I had sciatica very badly and was NEVER told by my OB that there could be withdrawals of any kind.

Then you need to fight for that baby. If you were not abusing the drugs, then you have a hefty lawsuit in yours hands. If your OB really gave them to you and you only took what he gave, then someone will be in some deep doo doo for taking that baby off you. Seriously, I would go balistic..
