Oh, and I will add that crying is very good. Although there is no evidence, some scientists believe that it releases chemicals (Serotonin & dopamine) that will help you balance your emotions and give you a "feel good" feeling.
Crying is very normal during w/d. The numbness is residing and you are feeling your emotions.....grab a box of Kleenex and good luck!
It's normal. I had crying spells in the beginning too, and still, at about 25 days clean, have some minor depression issues. Let yourself cry. My emotions were all over the place too. Feel pretty good one minute, and just a few minutes later, I'd find myself hiding somewhere crying like a baby. Your brain is adjusting itself to being without the drugs, and some depression is fairly common during and shortly after wd's. I've noticed that my "episodes" get less and less frequent, as the "clean days" tick by. It does get better. When I feel one of my blue moods setting in, I set out for my path in the woods. I take a nice long walk, sometimes sit down under one of the big trees and just cry my eyes out til I feel better. Hang in there. This too will pass.
hey I go through crying sprees.. I think everyone does at one time or another..Congrat on day 7, I know you can do this...
Karen
want a good cry? watch the movie " walk the line" by the next day you wont cry anymore, you'll be too motivated
The last time I went CT.
This is hard to say, but I am ok with my man hood. It was about the 5th or 6th day and I decided to rent a Movie called "The Ultimate Gift". I set and cried like a little baby wanting a nipple full of milk. I couldn't control it.
If you want to watch a great movie by the way I would get "The Ultimate Gift" just have some tissues.
Congratulations on day 7, You have done great and yes crying is very normal.. Your feelings maybe all over the place for the next week or so, so cry if you need to as it can be a great stress reviler.... You have spent a long time with feelings below the surface now that you are clean they are looking for a release.. This to will pass be good to yourself and again great on day 7 way to go :))) lesa
Yes crying is very normal during and after w/d. We are no longer numbing ourselves up so now we feel things. I would cry during a commercial. We face alot of our hurts that we covered up for so long. I still cry at the drop of a pin but its okay now. I feel better and you will too. It is honestly a good thing. Congrats on the 7 days. You are doing a great job and it will get better everyday. Just hang in there and let yourself feel things. Stay strong. sara
