using Ultram while detoxing Hydrocodone

Since Ultram is structurally related to Opiates, is it safe to use, to curbthe side effects of hydrocodone withdrawals?

Ultram in higher doses causes seizures. Don't switch addictions. Just tapper down and jump! Use Lomotil as directed...will help with stomach cramps.

I am also recovering from ultram.. Very bad medication to be on for me.. so just becareful i had an awful time with withdrawals.

Don't take the Ultram. Its very very addictive. You can do this with nothing. Its the only way.Stay focused and don't give up. You can do it.

Ultram was used for the first 6 days of my detox, but it was under strict supervision of a doctor and I was also getting increased doses of Narcan each day. If you are detoxing on your own without medical supervision, I would not recommend it. Cross addiction is very easy.

It might be okay to take for a few days but it wouldn't be my first choice. I think for hydro you should be able to do it with some over the counter meds unless it's been everyday for years. In that case maybe some clonidine and a benzo for a few days. all the best

ok now everthing is together ...ITS NOT you are right it a partial synthetic opiate that metabolizes into a very low dose of morphine in your system .It my drug of choice withdrawal for it is H E LL if you are one of the unlucky ones to get addicted to it .You will here different opinions on it for me personally I would not recommend it for WD or anything else for that matter .I had any easier time coming off both hydro and oxy then I ever did with the tram.

I'm going to tell you just from my own experience; I've unfortunately been through WDs from Ultram, Percs and Vicodin....For me, by far, the worst WD i've ever had was from Ultram (Tramadol)...so much so, once i ran out of Vics and was craving real bad and had the opportunity to get a bottle of trams and said, "HEEEEEEEECK no...."

Ultram is verrrrrrry addictive...even though Dr's may not agree...
