using ultram now for hydro withdrawal

have hydro problem, doctor gave me 180 ultram to use to taper off hydro.  Can someone help me come up with a taper schedule, how many I should start at etc...  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Was taking four to seven hydro a day.

I took tramadol for 7 years. Yes....It's a tough one to come off of. 180 tablets is most likely enough to get you into trouble with it, especially if you've been taking other pain meds. Opiate receptors aren't that particular about the specific type of drug you are taking.....Switching drugs will help the withdraw symptoms, yes, but only a little bit in the beginning. My advice to you is to get yourself a better Doctor. They are out there. You just have to look for them, but it's worth it when you find one. I could NEVER have gotten off the drug without help.

Do a google search for, "Doctors of Pain Management and Addicion Medicine" in your area......Just be honest with them. You'll get the help you need.....

I could not believe I was reading that either.. Ultram? No No No...
I mean it will help with the w/d's but if you are not very, very, careful you will end up addicted to them.
When they first came out, My dr gave them to me. Said these are NON- ADDICTING. Well it was not long before I was in his office telling him I was in w/d's. He did not believe me. Some Dr's can be uneducated, and others just no to bright.. No disrespect ment..
There are better meds out there to use than Ultram.

I agree with avisg comming off trammys is very hard, for me it has caused depression and very little sleep, I never had that problem just coming off vic's besides the physical stuff, but like an idiot I did both at the same time for the last 2 years. Please do not use those trammy's. You are better CT or just tapeing the hydro's if you can. Best of luck to you you can do it.

Your doctor apparently doesn't know what to give you. Do not take the tramadol. i can't believe he gave you tramadol. that is so stupid. sorry I don't mean to be disrespectful to you or your dr.. Tramadol is the devil pill. I know this for a fact. Your dr. is so uneducated about this but maybe not all his fault

you don't want to use tramadol to taper off of the hyrdo.If you take 180 pills of tramadol you will then have to go threw WD off of them .I will tell you WDing off of hydro is a picnic compared to coming off of tram.I would hate to see you have to go threw that .do you have any hydro left?
