vicodin addict

my cousin has been taking vicodin for a couple of months now. she wont stop. she thinks it makes her feel better. plus she smokes pot[sometimes] and cigrattes[alot] i tell her not to because shes putting her life in danger for no reason. she is in rehab right now for 2 months. so that means 2 months without vicodin or pot or cigrattes. do you think she will be better?

tHIS IS WONDERFUL NEWS.yes your cousin will be great. I am a big supporter of re-hab and after care for long term sobriety,also sheb has a good family in you. help her to help herself.

It depends if your cousin wanted to go to rehab. It sounds like she was still enjoying the pills not realizing where it was going to take her.  Yes she will come out with no addiction but if she never really wanted to stop, she could be in for a relapse. Please stick with her. She will need your support. Best Wishes

wow no cigarettes either?  I have been to many rehabs but most of them let us smoke........

Most of the time the day I left rehab I used, if she does not have a good support group to help her she will too........
what people don't understand is how it effects the brain and changes the way you think........your emotions, those things must heal and change.
To stop using is the easy part to stay in Recovery is a mental nite-mare.........
The day she leaves the rehab she should go to 90 meetings in 90 days...........
