Hi There ....I'm sorry, G-d, I know it's soooo hard.  Maybe one of if not THE hardest thing you will experience.  I was too addicted to Hydrocodone (10/325's) for 4 years.  I'm clean as of 7 months ago.  PLEASE don't get discouraged by this but I tried it all.  I quit cold turkey as well.  I just mentally decided that I got tired of the "second job of trying to obtain pills both legally and illegally".  I was doing everything from visiting doctors all over to writing illegal prescriptions.  My max was 18 pills a day.  I am now 35 and like everyone else, I was prescribed them by my doctor for pain.  He kept feeding them to me for about a year and a half, the other 2 1/2 years, I found many ways to get them.  The first 3 weeks were the worst...night sweats/day sweats, leg trembling, couldn't sleep, couldn't function, felt like I had the worst flu of my life.  I am a single mother and had to hide the pain from my son which was the most difficult part.  I still had to maintain the household (laundry/dinner/cleaning) which made things so much harder.  I couldn't (or wouldn't) tell my mother or anybody.  I still had to get up at 6 and go to work every day.  I would close my door and sleep in my office just to get through the day.  It is so difficult.  I think after 4 years of use it took a good 3 months before I felt 90%.  Then, things started getting better each day.  I started running in the evenings (started at a mile and a half and am now up to 5 miles a night)... the excercise helped although it was hard as hell to get up and get motivated to excercise.  It's mind power sweetheart, that's the majority of it.  Mind over matter.  I know that's easy to say but remember, I've been there (boy have I been there).  It was either stop and endure the several weeks of being sick and uncomfortable or..... go to jail, lose my son and my life..... I chose the obvious.  I wish you so much luck and strength during this time.  You can do it, I promise you can.  Take care of yourself. -c

I was addiccted for 4 yrs on the vics.  So if want to get off them I would do it before you go anyfurther.  I tapered off and think That is the best way to go if you have some support and don't take more than you do.  You with keep needing the pills for anxiety once you get off.  There is also something called the Thomas Recipe that helps get off.  GoingToMakeIt can help with that.  But keep posting here this site really helps when there is alot of people on here.
I started with 5 a day for a week, then 4 day for week and so on.  So try that.  I have been off since Dec 6 th and still have a few withdrawals so it won't be easy not to scare you or anything.  Keep us posted.
