w/d & restless legs

Does anyone know how to deal with the restless legs syndrome part of the withdrawals?
My boyfriend says it's the only thing stopping him from quitting oxy's on his own... we can't find subotex here :(
He was prescribed clonodine before, but the 0.2mg dosage wasn't enough for him, even if he took a few.

Has anyone been through this and can help? Please??

Plenty of hot baths,as hot and as often as he can.Exercise is by far the best thing for the RLS.Bananas for the potassium. What worked for me was to rub my legs with a mentholated rub and wrap them tight, but not too tight, with ace bandages and then use the heating pad. They also sell something  called Hylands Restful Legs,I know you can get it at walmart.Hope this helps.....Kim

He needs to find the correct dosage .Exercise helps the RLS as does wrapping your legs up in an electric blanket .I have never tried it but there are a few meds out there now for rls he might want to discuss it with his doctor.

It was suggested to me on this forum to try Cal/Mag vitamin supplements and that was the key for me. I don't normally have RLS but during withdrawals it was miserable for me. It took a few days for the Cal/Mag to "kick" in, no pun intended LOL.

Take Care.......

Thank you for the replies, and so quickly, too... but I wish it were that easy though :(
I have no idea how I'm going to convince him to get exercise, especially when he gets his RLS in the middle of the night and can't exactly go for a walk in our neighbourhood. We decided to walk to a sub place yesterday, only 3.5 blocks away, and we whined that we have to drive next time... he can be so lazy at time, LOL. It's frustrating, to be honest.

But I will definitely mention the hot baths and wrapping of the legs and using the lotion... I will also call our pharmacist and ask him what drugs are available for RLS and see if our family DR can get that for him ASAP.

I really enjoy this forum compared to others I have joined because it's so much more helpful!! It really does "take one to know one" and truly understand. Thanks everyone!
