w/d from tabs

For three weeks now I have been tappering down on the tabs. Down to 2  10mil a day. So far so good. Yesterday went to the dr. told him about panic attacks and depression. He put  me on 1mil xanax a day at night for sleep.Any one have any problem with mixing the two in these small doses. I do not want another adddiction, so I am leary of amything the drs(who know little or nothing about addiction) prescibe.  Any have a comment.        Mike

taking the 2 together is not a problemi dont think.  BUT, the xannex is highly addictive in and of itdelf.  be very careful...as long as you take it for a short period of time hopefully you will be okay...just take it when you have to.  congrats on sucessfully sticking to your taper...i could not to it....hang in there and keep posting,  you can do this.

Yeah just be very careful in how long you use the xanax, a benzo withdrawal is the last thing you want to go through. Ive been through xanax w/d stemming from using them during methadone detox, it literally took me 3 months before I got any sort of good sleep. They can really creep up on you, so really try and get by with as little as possible and try and quit as soon as possible. Best of luck to you, Take Care.

you shouldnt withdrawl (withdrawal) from the tabs really bad if you have only been doing two tens a day because that is what i started doing before i stopped and withdrwls were only mild compared to usual. yeah bars or xanax can be addicting plus mixing it with the opiates will give you a diffrent high.

I wanted to say something about the xanax. I was prescribed Ativan (a longer-lasting and less-addictive benzo) and when I would go through withdrawals, I'd take more Ativan to help with the anxiety. THEN, when I stopped having to take the Ativan so much, I realized I was going through withdrawals from the Ativan, too. Horrible. So, yeah, I only take it as prescribed now. It scared me straight on that one. I think that was worse for me than the opiate withdrawal for some time.
