wanting to withdrawal from hydrocodone

I have been taking hydrocodone for over 3 years and I want to stop.  I am wondering what i the best way to do this.  I do not have any hydrocodone left, so basically I will be quiting cold turkey.  Is this a bad idea? Please help

Hi and welcome to the forum.For the majority of us addicts here,cold turkey was the only way.Although some have been able to successfully taper.I admire their willpower.Look up the thomas' recipe and amino acid protocol in the health pages here,top right.It would help a bit if you posted how much you were using a day,that way people here can tell you just what to expect as far as w/ds go.Keep posting,there is a ton of help and support here.All the best...Kim

It depends on the amount. if you have been taking a low dose you should be fine. If it's been a high dose tell your doc and I'm sure he will help you taper down until your off them.
