You took care of today... tomorrow is another day and you should worry about it then.
Today's batttle was won. No one has to be a matyr but if you can go without, then do so.
You should be proud of yourself. That really should have made you feel empowered and the rest of us should look at that to see that it IS possible.
I wish you the best and this is coming from someone with 2 herniations, a bulging disc at the L5-S1 level and degenerative disc disease. I also take advil.... gotta love advil.
Take the flexiril too.
You're in my prayers!!
yes...flexeril would help the spasms that could very be well tugging at ur spine and actually pulling it crooked..chiropractic is the only thing that has helped me but i found it 5 years after my injurty so damage was done that could not be reversed...my scoliosis was injury related and due to the tight muscles yanking on my spine day in and day out..the muscles are attached to ur spine so it is only normal for this to happen after prolonged spasm....muscle relaxers, massage, stretching, inversion, yoga, ice, heat, anything to lengthen and relax ur muscles can be imperative right now to fix things before it is chronic...dont end up like me...get it fixed by seeing someone who will correct the problem and not cover it up with medication
you are a very strong woman. Remember try not to overdo it, sometimes when you let pain get way out of control, then you can't get it back under. And a vicious cycle starts! You are brave and strong! Great job today!
Wow! You are one strong woman. You give me hope that I will be able to avoid the temptations when they arise - and they always do! Congrats!
That is sooooo AWESOME telling ur drs is one of the hardest things to do. Im so proud of you =)
I just wanted to add a Whoo Hoo for beating your addiction... Flexeril is a good alternative for narcs as far a muscle pain.. Proud of you girl :) lesa
to worried,
should i call the doctor back and get the flexeral, if it would help me? and i was a little resistant to go back to the chiropractor, with my spine the way it looked, would it help my back heal faster if i go?
ty,
lisa
sounds like scoliosis..i have it and has casued my problems over the years...scoliosis can be congenital or injury induced...mine was injury induced..keeping the muscles out of spasm is important to healing...ice, heat, stretching like yoga are all great..massage..chiropractic helps me the most...mine is injury related so I am fighting to get my spine more straight to take the load off..when ur spine is crooked, u r more prone to injury...muscle relaxers are not addicting as a rule..i would stay away from soma and lyrica if u have a history
be safe and take care of it...narcotics really dont help this pain as it is centered around tightness...ice and stretching helps alot..as well as inversion therapy
Thats amazing I went 8 days and ended up taking a few Percocets and am thinking about taking a Darvon which I have never tryed.. I think this dieseas is much stronger than me and Im not one to give in to anyone or anything that challenges me !!! Any advice ??? : ((
Worry about tomorrow when it gets here, but for today be very proud of yourself. That showed a lot of willpower.I've been dealing with a hurting back for 2 weeks now and I know how tempting that must have been for you, because I've been tempted myself, just to get some relief.I got the cortizone shot for my sciatica and I'm sticking to the motrin and the ice and heat packs too.I hope you get some relief real soon and way to go today!!!!!! Keep moving forward.....Kim
wow, you passed a huge test....thats great. yes, there is tomorrow and you will be one day one stronger. good for you...
WTG LIsa, I am soooooooooo proud of it. It ***** that we addicts have to suffer a little or alot extra when we hurt but it is worth it compared to getting into the insanity again.
