what could happen at the doctors?

Through the years I have no doubt damaged my body by the use of drugs. I am clean now besides the occasional Vicodin and Marijuana. But in the past I have abused the following:
1.Crack Cocaine for over a year in large amounts.
2.Psychedelic Mushrooms...only about three times
3.Alcohol...was a heave drinker for a year or so. I always drank in excess
4.Duster...did this stuff when I was younger...could not tell you how many times
5.DXM...I used the bad kind too...Coricidin HBP...ate boxes and boxes of them for months and then on and off again for about 2 years
6.Opiates: Vicodin and Percocet...Would eat 5-8 in a day...way too much acetaminophen
7.Methylphenidate ; generic Ritalin: I snorted 135 pills in under a month every month for almost a year
...................................................................................................................................................................
And that pretty much sums up my list. Now my question...and I don't know if this is even the right place to ask...but my question is this...I think sometimes that I may have damaged my body...my liver or my hears or just about any organ in my body.
I also happen to be in chronic pain in my back. Now I want to go to my doctor and explaine to them about my past drug use and see if they can test me for stuff but can they even do tests like that? I have no idea what they would have to do. Also I am afraid if I go to the doctor about this then they will not start me on any pain management for my back which the hospital says that I need along with physical therapy. I don't have a problem with opiates anymore but they are the only thing that helps with the pain. I don't want to not be able to get the right pain meds if I admit to my past abuse of drugs. But at the same time I have a family now and I am clean and I want to know I did not destroy myself because of my idiotic past. What should I do?

Gizzy first off I do not believe Marijuana is a gateway drug. At least not in the same way others view it as. Marijuana is not a gateway drug because it makes you want to try other drugs. Rather Marijuana is a gateway drug due to the environment you normally have to be involved in to obtain the pot. Which is due to it's illegal status. But I won't get into that argument here.
Cathy...I am only able to go a week with out it when I don't have it. I guess I can admit I am addicted to it but only when I have it which is not that often.
But what now? Just never get them for pain ever again?

What i said was this is not the place to be telling people to smoke pot and that it's safe. In all honesty, and only my opinion, i don't think pot is that bad, it does have medical uses and I have been know to smoke the odd joint, lol. Do i tell people to smoke it NO, it's a gateway drug and there are people that have problems with it and effects them negatively, it's mentally addicting and it is still a drug. You need to be careful with these pills, they won't make you feel great forever and tolerance builds. Like Cathy said, go a week without using nothing and see what happens. I just don't want to see you switch addictions

I realize that I am psychologically addicted to opiates. BUT I take them to feel like a normal person...I don't take them to get high I just take them to feel normal. Not saying that the high from them is my normal but they take away my anger and depression that I have lived with since I was in my teens. Long before Opiates.
As for saying pot is not a bad drug and that it is a safe drug...I am sorry but I will never put down such a wonderful healing herb...not even on this forum.

I saw your first post on the other forum and your totally contradicting yourself. You have a list of the drugs you used here. you are not clean and said that opiates give you energy and make you feel normal and give you euphoria, that is physological addiction, 10x worse that physical. This is not the right forum to be telling people pot is safe either. I suggest looking into some other alternative for pain like many do cause switching from one drug to another is not the way to go. Here is part of what you said in the other post and words of an addict.

Then I found Opiates. I am not addicted to them by any means it's just that when I take them on occasion I feel normal. I feel like I did when I was a kid and had no depression and no worried. When I take them my girl and I do not fight. I just feel like I think I should. I socialize more. I leave the house more. I just all around feel better.
I guess my question is are there any drugs a psychiatrist could prescribe me that would get me back to normal like that or are opiates my only choice?

How can you say your not addicted?  Please think about this, you have gotten off a lot of bad drugs, pills can take you down also before you know it's happening. Just be careful ok:) Good luck!

The occasional Vicodin is for pain. No recreational doses for me anymore.
Marijuana is not a problem for me. Marijuana is safe and I do not consider it a drug anymore than I consider a cup of coffee a drug.

It's reasonable to be concerned that they wouldn't give you the right pain meds if you admit to a history of drug issues.  I've been denied pain meds just because I -look- like a drug addict.  Last I checked, physical therapy is supposed to fix things.  So I would hold off on getting checked out for drug related damage until the point where either your pain was gone, or could be managed with something other than opiates.  If it looks like that isn't going to happen, re-evaluate the situation then.
