by road2recovery, May 10, 2007 12:00AM
first off i just want to tell you that i dont't know why that is my nickname because i am definetly not on the right road yet!!!
Yesteray i went to see a uncle of mine that is dying of cancer..When i got there i knew it would not be long..Hospice was there and he was unconcious..Well i think he used opiates for a long time..For the last few months he has been in so much pain i didn;t even want to go see him..I asked the nurse why ws he still in pain and if she could give him more medicine..She said that was the limit without death..Scared the **** out of me..I know when i had a horrible tooth ache..the doctor gave me everything from lortab to perc and tylox..NOTHING helped..he had also gave me demoral, and mep...it didn;'t even put me to sleep..So i went and told him to pull it..Which was hard for me becaue i am funny about my teeth but could not take the pain anymore..SO with all this said now i know what i have done to myself..NOW i understand tolerence , never did before..So i take it this last surgery was nothing compared to the pain i will sufer in the coming yrs if i don't get off this stuff!! the ones out there who are just starting to take this stuff, PLEASE get off...GOd bless everyone else trying too!! have a great day
love to all..

I understand what you are saying.............addiction only progresses if you keep using, becuz once an addict always an addict......when  you stop using its like goin into remission as long as you dont pick up again, you'll stay in remission. This is call recovery.  An addict can not pick up again and think he/she will get the high again , the addict always picks up were he/she left offf.
And I think you are on the road to recovery God blessxxxooo Keri
