Hi and welcome to the forum.  What are you taking and how much?

First off, have you been to the doctor? Have you told him/her what medicines you are taking? You really need to for the sake of your baby. I don't know what or how much you are taking but all opiates will have an effect on your baby. Most likely the baby won't die but you could cause it to have an addiction to the drug at birth or possibly birth defects. Honestly hon, you need to tell your doctor and stop taking the drugs. If you are addicted, which I fear you might be for you to come to this site and post to it, you need to see your doctor immediately and tell him/her the truth.

Are you taking this under a doctor's care?  Or are you abusing them?  In either case, your obstetrician needs to know and they'll help you do what's best.  Quitting cold turkey can cause miscarriage.  If you are on it for pain management, they'll figure out what's best for you and your baby.  If you do have a pain management condition, you should check out the pain management forum as there is one member there who continued her pain meds throughout her pregnancy while being closely monitored by her doctor.  She just had a very healthy baby girl who did not have to go through withdrawals.  Please, please be honest and upfront about this with your obstetrician no matter the reason you are taking this.  They will help you either way.

I was giving opiates through my OB doc when I was pregnant with my twins. I was on a low amount, but it was because opiates actually slow contractions and they were afraid of my going into preterm labor. They were also for the amount of pain I was experiencing, because being in a lot of pain can cause preterm labor, too. Like I said, it was a low amount and my babies had no problem with addiction. I. however, uped my dosage BIGTIME after they were born and got addicted. You need to talk to you doctor about this and possibly suggest a slow taper. The good news is that you're early in the game and can become clean(or close) by birth. I wouldn't suggest going cold turkey because it can cause you to miscarry, but it is crucial you discuss this with your doctor... what happens to a baby during pregnancy lasts a lifetime,
