Definitely don't CT.  It's not good for you at this point and definitely not good for the baby.  You could very easily miscarry.

Your OB will let you know what he wants you to do.  He may want you to stay on a certain dose until you have the baby or he may want to taper you down.  But whatever he chooses, you must follow his advice or you could potentially harm your baby.  If he keeps you on it, you won't be in trouble with Protective Services since you were open and upfront about things.  But if you try to hide it, then you're at risk of having that baby taken away.

Doctors have heard everything.  You won't be the first patient with this problem and you won't be the last.  They'll make sure to give you advice that will enable you to have the healthiest baby possible.  And IF the baby is born addicted, they'll be aware of that potential and will know exactly what to do.

Please post after you talk to the OB and let us know what they said.

And I didn't make this clear--you do not want to suffer active withdrawal secretly at home, either--the withdrawal syndrome will stress both you and the baby and can cause early labor. You need a doctor to monitor you. All the best, honey, and let us know how you are doing....

Hi there--I am glad you are here. It's your first step to safety--and your baby's. I am so sorry that you are having such an awful problem! There's time to get clean before the baby comes, but just barely. Mellie, the lady who wrote you first, wants to know the things that I do, too--please write us back. Roxicodone DOES get to the baby; the baby and you are both addicted, and your little one will suffer withdrawal along with you if you run out. However, we can lose both of you if you don't stop. Drug use can cause early labor and lots of physical problems for both of you, some life-threatening. (I'm not kidding--I'm an RN with a 33 year career, and I am frightened for you and your little one.) Can you tell me how you are taking the Roxicodone (orally, snorting, IV), your intake daily, and for how long? Were they prescribed for you or have you been getting them on the street? Have you got a supportive family? Have you got an OB doctor? The minute you read this message, please go to the phone and get an emergency appointment to your OB doctor TODAY. It will be hard, but you must come clean and tell him/her everything. If you tell the OB now---TODAY--- there is less chance that DHR will be involved and take the baby away. If you deliver a child in active withdrawal, you will risk losing it to foster care. The nurses will notice within an hour that baby is sick, do a urine test, and the drug shows right up. And then you are in HUGE legal trouble, and both of you will be in big physical trouble, especially the baby. You don't want that, do you? I am so worried for you! Please call your doctor the minute the office opens and make an appointment for TODAY, even a work-in appointment. If you have no doctor, go to the ER NOW. And please let us know how things are going for you!

I'm not sure if it will show up in your baby's system or even if they will check for it but nonetheless, you need to let your OB know what you're doing here.  It's not good for the baby to CT off a narcotic as it can cause a miscarriage.  Your doctor won't judge you and it will protect you in case your baby does test positive.  How much were you taking and did you take it your entire pregnancy until now?  When did you stop taking it?  Have you had any withdrawal symptoms?  Please call your OB first thing and let them know what's going on!!
