whats the difference between hydro's and tylenol 3's

Just a question? Does anyone know what the difference is between hydro's and tylenol 3?  Is it harder to withdrawl from tylenol than hydro's?  Are the symtoms the same going cold turkey?  Haven't uses hydros' since wed, but it's saturday now and been using tylenol 3's to help with w/d's.  I'm I just fooling myself????

I've was taking atleast 12-15 10/325 of hydro's a day for at least year. During christmas i was able to quit ct for 7 days and then started right up again on Jan 1st.  taking the same amount of hydro's.  in between that time a quit ct again for almost 4 days and yep relapsed again.  So here I am trying again, but this time I'm gonna make it.  It's been 4 days without hydro's, but I've been taking these tylenol 3's.  First day I took 3 tabs every 4-6 hours. second day I took 2 tabs every 4-6 hours, third day I took 2 tabs every 6 hours and today day 4 I'm taking 2 every 8 hours.  By the fifth day I will take 1 every 6 hours and by the sixth day I shouldn't be taking any.  first couple of days I slept all the time at least 12 hours straight, last couple nights 8-9 hours of sleep.  before hydros' came into my world,  I never slept much, I was great with just 5-6 hours a night and a cup of coffee in the morning and I'd be ready to go.  I have very low energy right now, forced myslef to church this morning drank some coffee, but now ready for a big time nap.  I need help with this low energy crisis

I suggest setting a few days aside for being "sick".  Look at it as being sick and that there's nothing you can do about it.  Try to get that mindset and put up with it.  When it's all done you'll feel so much better that you're not taking anything.  From then on hopefully you'll look to the past and remember how "sick" those pills made you.  I went through it that way and I've burnt it into my head.  I feel I'm a better person for it.  I took one for the team if you know what I mean.

I really think that you are better off , stopping all opiates...I think that it is just dragging it on.....Although it is not as strong it is still an opiate.. That is just my opinion..I have taken them too when i did not have hydro's and still went throught some w/d's...But then i guess i wasn't ready, so just went back to where i was...
How much hydro's were you taking??

I also have some tylenol 3's and I used them the first couple days of going cold turkey off vicodin, I found that it just made me feel worse and I was also worried that it was just dragging on the withdrawals so I stopped all opiates...  I put all my darvocet and tylenol 3 away so I wouldn't be tempted and my detox has been going pretty good.  I've been using the amino acid protocol and battling the symptoms head on.  I do have a lot of back/elbow pain so I take tylenol for arthritis which is pretty strong otc tylenol and it works alright, that and heat, baths, etc...  I'd say quit them all I'm still having a tough time on the mentals and the fatigue, its a daily battle but if I can do it so can you!  Good luck...

but is it harder to w/d from tylenol 3 or hydros?  do you think if I quit the tylenol 3's today I'll feel w/d.  I've already been going through w/d Am I just making the w/d last longer by taking the tylenol 3's?

tylenol 3 contains 30 mg codeine phosphate

hydro is hydrocodone, generally either 5, 7.5 or 10 mg

hydro is considered to significantly stronger than codeine

i once used 8mg codeine with asprin to get off hydro . . . it worked GREAT for the getting-off part, but just like when i went CT, i couldn't STAY off.

for me the key to staying off was rehab and then being very active in an ongoing program of recovery -- for me it's AA
