Actually muscle relaxers are considered to be a trigger for RLS in some people. You get RLS when your muscles relax, not when they contract, which is why RLS is so bad at night for most people...so when your muscles are FORCED to relax via a muscle relaxer, it can increase RLS.
It stinks...but it happens in a good portion of people. I'm one of them!
I didn't think you took anything else so it's a little baffling,huh?
At least it helped you...
Thanks guys-i only took 10 mgs lol light weight on that one. It may have just been a coincedence that the rls hit me then.
Yeah it helped alot, still sounds like I'm grinding rocks when I turn my head but didn't get a headache today. I think some of the muscle tension up there is coming from work,I'm using alot of arm and shoulder strength instead of body mechanics, protecting my back.
Oh well, will see hat happens after I take another one tonight. Oh and don't take any other meds right now vicki.
@eagle aliitle over 200 days.
There are overactive reflexes if you take too much which you didn't...otherwise it's not indicated if you take MAO inhibitors,Tramadol, alcohol,benzos or barbs...even then it's increased sedation. No mention of RLS anywhere...I can look this up but I'm not sure of the action chemically. Because it's a muscle relaxer it may act by pulling minerals out of your musles like magnesium, potassium,etc...that would cause RLS.
No clue on that one..did it help the tension in your neck at all? That alone would stop me from taking it! YUCK! I'm going to look it up in my book here...
How long have you been clean from the hydrocodone? Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is a popular muscle relaxer these days - and it only presents very limited problems with it being a drug of abuse. The instant sleep thing will go away after you establish a routine with it. Wish that I could really help you - but yours isnt a common complaint with flexeril. Do you do any breathing exercises? A couple of minutes of tai chi and meditation and particularly the breathing exercises are very valid therapies.
