when will it get better

close relative of mine is deeply addicted to percoet and oxycotin.Long story short..finally got her to admit to me she is a drug addict and wants to come clean. we signed a contract stating she is willing to be subjected to random drug testing. {$30.00 kids from the drug store}. There will be reprecussions if she turns up positive. I am waiting a week to make sure she is clean before the first test. she said the last day she took a pill was friday...then it changedto the last day was wednesday but I think she did one today friday .she is such a good liar but I am on her to her tricks. she dextoxed this week...flu like symptoms, then today she had all sorts of energy...energy to to do this, no wait, lets do that, oh i mean lets to this...very scattered. Can one feel that good after detox? thats why i feel she used today. she wants a drug test wed, she swears she will be clean....I said ok, but im not gonna give her the test wed,im giving it thrusday or friday. I dont want her to stop for a day..wait for the test then use again. I insisted I go to the dr with her next week, the plan is to tell him he can no longer prescribe her those drugs,that she is an addict. im trying to cut off all her resources. what scares me is i read one can buy them from a foreign country. Is that true? If so then there is no way for me to control what she takes. Not that she is but I must be one step ahead of her tricks. Like righ now im thnnkin, she gace me a handfull of all her pills...which i immediately washed down the sink. It just occured to me, she has the bottle with the script number on it...how would i know if she called in for a refill? shes really wants to quit so she says.....i dont know what to think..she says all the right things but i dont believe a word of it.
How does one feel energy wise after detoxing for4 days from a heavy drug use?  while this is happening i put my life on hold nadwearing myself to the bone, cleaning her house,making dinners, being errand girl and at her beck and call and completely let slip te stuff i need to do, so if she turns up positive i will be so angry. i would feel like telling her...ok, im done with you, be a drug addict, ruin your life..lose your job, huband and child...because i will tell you hubby . and the lying to me that she is clean is just another lie of many, which also proved she treated me like an ***...running after her cleaning . i will continue to support her in any way i can but not if she shows up positive. she says, im gonna stop and thats all there is to it......for a heavy long term user who says their last pill was tuesday...will they show clean with a urine test on 8 days later on wed? 8days?? or is she trying to get more drug time in before wed?  I am exhausted from being at her beck and call for a week, giving her emotional support. but i swear she took today.

I know you don't want to hear this but you can't force anyone to quit. They have to want it and want it bad. You can test and test but in the end if someone does not have the desire they will find a way. addiction makes us lie, steal, and hurt the ones we love more than anyone else. Why not test her tom. and then every other day for a couple of days. If she is detoxing she will not want to do much of anything except be miserable. They have NA meetings for teens. That may be a good start or even a detox center followed by aftercare. I am a recovering addict and OC are my drug of choice. I love them but they destroyed everything I had. Rock bottom and then I saw the light. unfortunately that's the way it goes most of the time. These days all the kids are addicted to OC and if she is to kick this you have to have a plan or else this will just go on and on back and forth. I just came back from a commitment at a detox center filled mostly with teens and most are fighting addiction to OC. You must know detoxing is miserable and staying clean is harder than the detox. Some one will come along with better advise than mine. I just wanted to answer your post to let you know we are here for you.

thank you for aswering. I dont understand why you said  i should test her tomorrow? wont it show up if its in her system? When will she get her energy back when she is truely off? She had way to much energy today.

Just wanted to let you know you are a wonderful person for being concerned and trying to help. As for the drug test, I have to get tested once a year for work, we all do as we I am a union worker and work in power plants and safety is a huge concern. I was taking vicodin and then oxycodone due to sciatic problems. As long as we have a legal script it's ok if we come up positive. At the time of the drug test I had not taken any vicodin due to just being switched over to the oxy. The drug test they give us is top of the line. They check for everything. The drug testing company called me because of course they found something in my urine and had to verify with my doctor and pharmacy that it was prescribed. All they found was the oxy in my system. I even asked them if they found hydrocodone because I had just taken them 2 days before that. She said all that was found was the oxy. So this leaves me to believe that most opiate drugs are out of the system within 2 days or so. Also, when I was taking the vicodin I was taking way more than prescribed as they were not helping my pain. So, it wasn't like I just took 1 or 2. Also, I was on them for over 6 months before this. She may know that they do not stay in the system very long and that could be why she is ok with waiting for the test. I would probably give her that test tomorrow since she had all kinds of energy.
Just thought I would share my first hand experience with a drug test. And like I said, it was a top of the line drug test. This company is used all over the country and is very well known. They are also a safety company that is backed by OSHA. I wish you the best of luck and it's great you are doing all you can!

You need to just test her, do a surprise testing and she should not have any problem with it! since she is clean

And yes, how many pills per day are we talking about?

I dont know how many but I have a feeling it was alot. I plan on testing her this week. She wants wednesday, so like I said, I will test thursday. I will let everyone know how it turns out. Oh and I told her, Im going to watch her give me the specimen.

I did not test her  thursday. she admitted to "finding" a pill and had no self control and just took it. she stated she felt bad about letting me down and swore it was a "found" pill. she took it on tuesday so I figure it should be out of her system by the weekend, so I will test her sat or sunday. I know, im being played for a fool..she swears it was one slip and wont happen again because she has no access. im going with her to her dr on monday to make sure dr wont give her any more scripts.

i found this site to be very helpful regarding what people go through during their recovery phase.
