why can't i slowly come down from methadone while pregnant?

by alicredit, Aug 31, 2009 08:47PM
i am about 3 months pregnant and going to a methadone clinic. I'm only taking 40mg and it's making me very sick (throwing up all day) also i don't want the baby to be born on any drugs and the clinic is just too expensive to keep going forever. for all these reasons i want to slowly come off my dose about 5mg a week until i'm out. they will not let telling me that it will kill the baby. i know that this is b.s. the kicker is that if i don't have the money to pay them they will admin. detox me which takes about a couple weeks. i just don't understand the logic in this, all they care about is being legal drug dealers and taking you're money by keeping you addicted!!!!!!! i know this isn't a question but i thought people should know the f***** up reality of administrations.
