why does bp increase

why does bp increase

Ok, I am down to 4 hydro a day after taking 20 a day..........................

My bp gets up to about 133/90 when I am having some REAL anxiety.   It also goes down to 115/71 with a pulse of 65   why does this cause the bp to go up when you are in wd, is it the anxiety, will it self correct????

Thanks!!
Karen

When in withdrawals everything kinda goes in reverse as they are when you are on pills.. pills slow everything down.. so when you are stopping or cutting back it does the opposite.. hence we get diarreah (diarrhea) after stopping we were constipated when using pills,

Yes it wil self correct itself... that is one of things clonidine helps so much with

Noname-- Not sure it could be low from the pills or it could be from dehydration

My dr was totallly opposed to me taking bp meds due to the hefty dose of synthroid I am on.   I had my thyroid removed 18 months ago and he does not like bp meds and synthroid( of course I had medical hypertension).......................How long does it take to self correct, do you know?

Thanks for being a vat of wisdom!

many things can cause bp to increase: dehydration, infection, etc.  In opiate withdrawal, its an andrenergic response--  the so-called "fight or flight" response.  Its an increased level of adrenaline in your system.  The anxiety we feel is from being in a constant state of "fight or flight".  At least my biochemistry degree is good for something.
