I have taken Lyrica and stopped it and started it back and I am now stopping it again. It helps with my pain, but I get suicidal ideation when I take it. It is a good pain med and I know a lot of people who take it problem free. Some folks may not have wds from Lyrica, but I definately do. My wd from Lyrica was/is as bad as any wd I've experienced except for Methadone. My wds included an icky feeling clamminess, hot flashes and chills, a goose bump kind of feeling at times, just a sickly nervous, shaky kind of feeling. It is bad for a couple of days then gets better. Warm baths seem to help. I hope your wife doesn't go through wds, but if she does tell her to hang in there the worst will pass in a day or two. Good luck.
I have not heard of any WD from it but its a good idea to taper down a bit. It does not have to be a long taper just step down and off
there is not supposed to be any physical wds from lyrica...and as far as i know this is true...i would still taper down if i could if on a high dose as psychologically it may be a bit hard..a friend abuses lyrica..takes 6-8 pills a day for euphoria..when she runs out she has no physical wd at all...most do not abuse this drug/but some do/we are all different/ and if she has been taking a prescribed dose it should be fine as long as her doctor is following her
