withdrawal question??

Let me first say if you haven't figured out yet I like to ponder on things.

So I was using pain pills again until the other day. I went on a two month binge of pills for 5-6 days at a time with two day sometimes 3 day breaks. Enough to experience wds. My question is when you go 2 days into wds then binge again for almost a week then a day or two without would your body be repairing itself on those few days?  Or another question would you think it would maybe make the wds less once completely stopped.

Yes!  I know I have to deal with it no matter whatjust a curious tthought.

Did this question make sense. Lol

Well I screwed up my days yesterday so I'm actually on day two now!  But oddly I feel like I'm on day four. Still anxious but mind is fairly clear.
I guess the only way to answer this question is withsome ddoctors monitoring blood levels.

I know most say that each detox is worse than the last which I think is probably true.
I have detoxed 3 times and had a totally different experience in that each time was easier.
Was probably the length of time in between, being back out on the run.
My last detox should have been horrific in that I was up to about 400mg of vicodin and about 40mg of benzo's a day and had to detox on a jail floor but the w/d's weren't near as bad as the first time.
So again, I think it depends on the person.
If you can get the physical part of it out of the way, you're half way there.
Good luck, you can do this!

PJ..What I have read and what I pick up is that it takes a while for all of the receptors to clean out and heal..So does the brain Chem..It takes time to balance back. The more time you give it the more the tolerance goes down too. I guess when I went c/t off the other opiates I did not give it more then 2 weeks and ran back to the drugs in the 90s. The when I went up to the dones that was a Biitch to come of of. SO I myself do not know about it being harder each time you relasp. I think it all depends on how long you stayed clean and how much or how long you build things back up again or unbalanced them out. I do know from many Drs that it does take a LONG time for this all to Heal back..(sort of speaking) in the Brain.

I think the old each withdrawal is partially true. But possibly because each time we relapse we need more and more to get high. And each time we withdraw we are more and more down mentally thus causing more emotional agony. Just my experience and thoughts. Is there any scientific data to back up each detox is harder ??  I'm very curious about that.

Regardless it sux!!  Lol
But I'll keep y'all informed on how my detox goes.

Im going through something similar. I was off for Percocet for 8 days (after taking them for around 4 years) so I was off for 8 days, then took some for 3 days, I got off for maybe a week give or take, then I took pills Friday-sun this weekend. So stupid to keep doing this to myself!! Today is my first day not taking anything, I am not in horrible withdrawal but I feel pretty shi**y. I've been taking gabapentin and it helps to calm the restless legs and anxiety. Good luck!!!

J,

I don't think it will make it less, either. What you were doing is what they refer to as being 'strung out'. It takes 5 full days to get the opiate out of your urine for a drug test. Like you said, you just got to go through it. Maybe, if you hadn't had other habits it might make a difference. This kinda' stuff is cumulative & each habit tends to worsen it. Something to bear in mind, my brother!

My opinion/experience is that it will not make the wd's less.  The more u relapse the harder it is on your body.  If you find something different, then u are blessed and be thankful.  Best of luck to you!  Keep pushing onward and upward!
