I think the typical withdrawal is 4-5 days of the intense phsyical symptoms.   I do not know about methadone. Try wrapping your legs in ace bandage for the rls.  It helped me.

Unfortunately, I believe the sweats- in one form or another are going to be a problem for a while. I know they suck. I had to change clothes, sheets, all that- constantly.
I do believe you can get some relief from the rls by getting a script for that- short term- till you think you are over this. Also, as mentioned above, the ace bandage thing seems to have helped some people. At night you can try and put a pillow under your feet to see if slight elevation helps a little.

My friend had the sweats and said if she went to the sauna for 20 or 30 minutes in the evening, they were not near as bad that night...I noticed even now, when i work out i sweat alot more than I used to but did not have that problem at night or anything...I turn my ac down to sub zero or no heat on cold nights and bundle up and bundle down as my temp does seem to change frequently during sleep

How long on methadone?  Were you/are you in a mmtp at a clinic?
My fiance and I are on methadone...we have been detoxing slowly since August, now we are down to the last 3 weeks.  We have detoxed from it before, and it is definately a difficult and more time consuming detox.
Are you taking vitamins or anything?  They can help alleviate a lot of the pain associated with withdrawal.  Our bodies are depleted of viatamins and minerals which makes you feel bad, now the pain meds that were masking those deficiencies are leaving our systems and leaving behind the havoc wreaked on us.
This forum really helps.  I am amazed at what a difference it makes to have this family to turn to.
Try bathing in epsom salts frequently for the rls.
Keep your head up and focus on the rewards of overcoming this challenge.

SAD TO SAY IT...this won't be easy..i was on methadone for one month and quit cold turkey. I had absolutely awful withdrawls for 4 weeks and a lighter PAWS for another 2 months after that. so 3 months total.  I was taking 30 mgs a day before that.  I even got ;percocet for one of the weeks and it did little to nothing to help becuase of the half life.  It did help minimally however.  Just be prepared.  It's not an easy road...., at least for me, it felt like hell on earth..., not because i was withdrawing, but because the intensity and length of time it took.  Everyone told me 7 -10 days..., unfortunately my withdrwl didn't even peak until day 11 which is when i literally had a mental break down.  However it is doable....keep your chin up,..i know its wierd but i talked to myself A LOT when i was withdrwingl...that and i prayed a lot.  good luck to you...brit

sorry i started rambling and failed to answer your question.as for cold sweats, there really isn't anything you can do for them.  I hated that part too.  RLS, hot baths helped with that.  ANd i'd sit in front of a heater quite often to get that warm rush of air...You will get hot becuase of the sweats, but i just kept doing it to relieve my pain even a little bit.  Motrin, helps too..i took lots of vitamin c.  I never took zanax or klonopin or valium or anything but i hear that helps too....hope this helps..keep us posted

I have heard that methadone was the worst to detox off of. When I was going through WD from hydros I just couldn't believe mine lasted so long. They lasted over two weeks then the mental stuff set in and it took another 6 months to get over that. All I can say is I learned a hard lesson and I hope I stay clean forever. I have learned so much about the PAWS. It is so true if you have abused drugs for a long period of time. It takes your body longer to reset itself
