withdrawl from oxycodone

I have had a bad winter, between kidney stones and a big fall on the ice, I have been on morphine, dilauded, and oxy's. I have only been on the oxy's since last Tuesday 30 mg x2 day. On Sunday morning I got up and had to throw up, and throw up, etc... I did this for a few hours and then I got the runs. This went on for a few hours and finally I though I might have gastro. I got some pepto bismal and that seemed to work. I didn't even realize I hadn't taken my oxy until about 2:00pm. I took my pill and the pepto and everything seemed to settle down. On monday I was fine and went to work, Today, Wednesday I woke and I had the runs really bad. I took some peprto and aound 11:00 am I took my oxy. Back to normal except my stomache hurts. Could this be withdrawl? When ever I have had to wean off meds (chronic pain patient) I have never had vomitting and the runs. I only have 3 days of meds left and my pain is almost gone. I was just going to stop when they were done. Can I possibly being going through withdrawls?

You dont sound like you are "addicted" but you may be "dependent".  It seems that you were not abusing them but when you quit you may experience a few days of withdrawals......good luck!

For what it's worth, I was in a car accident 3 years ago and have been on pain meds. etc. ever since. When I took oxycotin for 3 days after the doctor raising the mgs. I was sick. The doctor finally gave me meds. to take for being sick, which helped. Then I was put on oxycodone 7-325 , plus muscle relaxer and nerve blocker. But am off all meds. now and went thru some awful withdrawls. I tried to get help with going off and was offered "methadone" and I choose to do it on my own. Not an easy task. After so long the pain meds. won't work, then what? Myself I am glad to be off them as there was alot of side effects. I started out on vicodin 500mg. and finally said "no more" at oxycodone. I do wish you the Best. It's bad enough to hurt let alone be sick. Good Luck.

Yes, it does sound like withdrawal. You were taking some pretty heavy duty pain medication there and I am not surprised. Did you not know they were addicting?
