withdrawls??

withdrawls??

So if you take pills for pain and your pain gets better (because the source of the pain is being corrected) don't you gradually take less? So would there still be withdrawls?

yes, the people that take their pills like that are not on this forum. they are normies and they dont go through withdrawals. not everyone who takes pain pills is an addict.

I worry about running out of pills, Iam not sure if it;s because of fear of pain or fear of being without the pills

Yes, I took pills for pain and after a while your body builds a resistance to the pills so you have to take more to relieve the pain.  Its a vicious cycle.  I didn't realize until after I went off the pills that my body didn't need that much to relieve the pain.  Once off the pills your brain will start producing the natural pain relief.  And YES, you will have withdraw.

I can't really tell right now if my pain is from w/d or my health condition.  It's the hit by truck, total fatigue, hurts to move and just basically out of gas feeling.  I think the only way for me to really sort out whats real and whats rebound pain will be after a couple of weeks off the vicodin I have taken for 2 years.  Maybe I will need to take something, but a different drug or less of it and not every day...maybe nothing!  Wouldn't that be sweet!  No worrying about running out, no overmedicated feelings, no hiding anything from my family...just a normal life with some medical issues that need attention but maybe not narcotics.

the behaviors you're describing above sound like addictive behaviors to me...
read in, i think it's avisg journal...an article that explains what an addict is..check it out...only you can decide.

It is a good idea to stop for about a month...then reevaluate your pain level...many times  the pills make the pain seem worse than it really is!

Good luck and keep psoting!

Yes, you will have wds...even when you taper...you still feel the effects, jsut not as bad as going ct.
Even people who take their pills exactly as prescribed..can be come dependent on them...they may not take them for the high,....but the body gets used to them....so if they have been on them for a period of time...they will experience wd when stopping them!
