I could have wrote your post myself about the gallbladder. Right after my first daughter was born I started having weired symptoms that led to panic attacks too. Once I found a doctor to figure out what was going on and had my gallbladder removed it stopped completely until I quit hydro's cold turkey in June. It is alot better than in the beginning but I still get the anxiety and occasional panic attack but can also control in before it gets too bad now. I have been having alot of pain and the obgyn wants me to have a hysterectomy so maybe they will stop when the pain goes away after surgery. I sure do hope so. My doctor has recommended inositol( a supplement) to try for the anxiety since they tried the AD's and they made me worse. Anyway thanks for responding you are always so informative and supportive.

It was fear because they at the point did not know what was wrong. I was terrified .It turned out it was my gallbladder .Its was a one time occurrence. I have not had one since .I did have them in the past but I used breathing. I would count from 100 back while breathing in threw my mouth and out threw my mouth and it worked very weLL. I had to concentrate on the breathing and counting before I new it the PA passed. I had use pills in my early 20s they really did nothing for me.

I know this is an old post but how did you overcome your panic attacks? Where they from wd? How long did you go through it? Did you use meds and if so what? I will be 6 months clean the end of this month and still have panic attacks every now and then. Just looking for someone who has been through this to help.

I too have got to get to the bottom of some medical issues and have had the crud...It is hard and we gotta do the best we can and if taking a xanax can help you right now...wasnt your drug of choice...I would not feel bad about it at all...I had to take a piece of a valium last night after crying at my moms house...she is all worried and called this morning to force me to make an appt to get my medical issues resolves...I need a hysterectomy and sinus surgery..she knows why I am hesitant because I have told her about the pills....I am feeling anxious myself but also knew I could not have these procedures done while using as I would not be able to get any pain relief due to my high tolerence...I will make my appt and get started from there...my daughter in law gave me the name of a good doc who can help with moods....menopause stuff and is an expert at anti-depressents and helping that way...hormonal replacement too...i am gonna se an internist and get a good physical...I can not go thru sinus surgery right now so that will have to wait til I absolutely can not stand it...i have had it once before....I need to get pro-active and get my medical issues resolved and stay clean while I do it...I may end up having to take something narcotic as well by the time I am done with all of this if surgery is indicated...lets hang...and pray

Panic Attacks are somthing I can relate to, as I have had so many, as a matter of fact I had one last year & it was so bad that I called 911, I really thought I was having a heart attack! & I had just woke up from a good nights sleep & was wearing my hello-kitty pj,s, my hair was a mess, makeup smeared under my eyes, you know the deal? At any rate in comes my local fire fighters around 6 men, at first I didnt care who they were what I looked like as I thought I was gonna die! They check my blood pressure { normal }, run a quick ekg, {normal}, then one of them asks, do you know what a anxiety attack is? When he asked that, my fears went away within seconds! Then I realize I,ve got these hot looking men in my bedroom with me in this condition, how embarassed It was to say the least. Since then I have learned natural skills in how to work myself out of this, its all about the mind & breathing. & Im glad I did, the anxiety attack I had was prior to my detox, & it is now more then ever that my stress levels & anxiety will be challenged so these mental tools will be needed, & so far so good, as I have not had a anxiety attack since.  Take Care Penelope
