Took me 4 months to wean off a lesser dosage than you are on. Be very careful. I had my doctors help all the way, and luckily came thru it with few withdrawals and no problems! good luck and don't do it on your own, whatever you do!
I saw this post and I was going to warm you about the seizures, but you already know.
All I can say is take it slow and try to have someone with you if possible.
Good luck,
Dove
do not wean off of xanax without physician supervision. this is one medication that requires supervision due to the risk of seizure activity. he may also want to put you on an antiseizure medication for the duration of your taper. neurontin is used frequently and also helps with the anxiety.
i am on xanax and i have been for 2 years and i wanted off but my doctor says no way dont do it on your own..you need to call your doctor and set and appointment and have him lower your dosage and have him wean you off....
Please go and talk with your doctor about a taper plan so that you can get off of these and work on that bundle of joy!! If your not getting them through a doctor I think you need to find one who will work with you b/c you will need Valium as Avisg suggested to get clean. Best of luck!!
i agree with ohio about waiting until you are off for a baby
when it comes to benzos as you found out you cant CT you have to do a very slow taper.I suggest you let the doctor know you are ready to come off of it ,because you want to have a baby . normally they will give you valuim to taper with ,there are slow taper plans for xanax in my jornals but you need valuim to do it.
hon you need to get off the xanax first before TTC..that is a high dose you are taking, and xanax can cause some pretty significant birth defects. I believe its a Category X drug which means you cannot use it all during pregnancy. Please, get off it first and THEN you can TTC that precious bundle of joy =) wishing you the best of luck.
Send a personal message to avisg. She is in my friends list if you don't have her on yours and she is the best with tapers. Best of luck to you.
