xanax and alcohol

by robbie178, Mar 15, 2008 01:05PM
I was drinking every day and taking klonopine 1.5 mgs in the morning to prevent the jitters. I did this for along time. And i drank everyday. Pretty much beer and a few shots of tequila sometimes. I would not recommend doing it. I'm an addict I had to do it to get by. Anyway, I heard that you have to take alot of xanax to od when you drink. But I do not believe this. I think I had a tolerence for both alcohol and klonopine and when your body gets used to  certain blood level you can go on along time using only if you do not take a double or triple dose of something.I know herion addicts who have used for years and switched to methadone and are still living. Everyone is different. If your 110 lbs and you take 2mgs of xanax and drink, yea,  breathing might shut down. If you are 200 lbs like myself and have been using 2mgs every day and drink you may live to be 70. My suggestion is if your doing xanax do not start drinking on top of it. Why would you want to take the risk of checking out. And if you are drinking and taking xanax either stop both or stick to one.
