xanax withdrawal

My husband is now 60 hrs without any benzos he is doing very well.  We did have to call the Dr. yesterday to see if he would call in ambien to help him sleep.  Thank god the Dr. did he had been 3 nights without sleeping.  He has been having chills that turn into sweats and some stomach issues.   After all these hours is this the worst to expect??  Will it turn around for him in the next day or 2??

4 to 6 2 mg xanax? F'ing WOW ,,, how did you fair? Will you fill me in?
I'm 3 months off 4 mg xanax and still pretty much a mess.

Xanax, a benzodiazapine MUST be tapered...you could possibly have a seizure that could be fatal going c/t. Check out the Ashton Manual, Benzo Buddies dot org. Please let us know how you are doing.

My bones ache Ive got a twitch, and now stomache nausea and sharp pains. I stopped taking them 2 days ago. I do around 4-6 yellow bars everyday.  Am I in any real danger? I've read several articles that have me pretty freaked out.. ***@****

Please do not be scared by the above poster. Your husband does NOT have to be admitted to the hospital for benzo withdrawal. That being said, it is one of the drugs that should be tapered for fear of seizure in SOME people. If he is having any side effects of ANY kind, please contact the doctor immediately.

Sleeplessness is a symptom of benzo withdrawal but if it continues..again...please contact the doctor.

Hi~  Benzo withdrawal is doable at home BUT xanax NEEDS to be tapered. You should NEVER stop cold turkey. It's dangerous. Call the doctor back,explain what's going on,and get some medical advice on tapering off.  Seizure risk is very high.

Wow, Benzo WD is very dangerous and the doctor should have admitted him to hospital or sent him to rehab.  Or the doctor could have gave him a rx to get him through until he could get to a rehab.  Day 3 is usually the worst but keep an eye on him.  Could have seizure activity with WD.
