xanax withdrawal

xanax withdrawal

I am a little freaked out after reading some entries. I have been taking 05 or 1.0 for about 6 years at night for sleep. I decided it was time to quit. I decided to go cold turkey and did not re-fill my prescription. It is day 3 and I am irritable and have had a few bad dreams, but other than that ok. I would like to continue, but now I am scared. I don't take it during the day. Just for sleep at night...any suggestions or advice?

If you are already on day 3 and have mild symptoms, you should be ok....however...im not a dr.  You should probably check with your dr just to be sure you are ok and see if he suggests weaning you off of them. I quit c/t after taking 2-3 mg for about a year. Did not know about the possibilty of seizures when I did that.

What you are doing is very dangerous its good you were on a low dose but you were on it for a long time .Why didn't you just taper off them? I don't know what to tell you all I can say is CTwithdrawl can result in seizures .You seem to be doing good so far but I would be VERY careful if things get any worse.
