xanax withdrawl(withdrawal)

xanax withdrawl(withdrawal)

Hello all. I'm glad i found this board. I've been on xanax now for about 3 months and use it only when i feel anxiety come on. I'm prescribed the .25mg tabs and only take them as needed. I don't take them daily. Its used for more of a crutch then a daily supplement to my anxiety. Sometimes i will need to take them 2 or 3 consecutive days in a row and sometimes i wont take them for 3-5 days. I've recently been thinking if i'm getting or already am addicticed to them. Somewhat recently i've been getting random headaches about once a week when i generally never got headaches. Accompanied with those headaches is a mild "cloudy" feeling. Are these withdrawl (withdrawal) symptoms or am i maybe looking too much into it? Should i just stop taking it cold turkey at this point so i dont have to deal with future problems? How do i taper off an inconsistent dosage or routine? again, its only .25-.50 per incident and not daily. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Any any other med's or natural remedies would be appreciated. Thanks

it can be. i had a similar problem from a low daily dose of xanax. i took .25mg daily...then reduced to half that for about a month. when i went to discontinue, the next day i got a severe migraine and visual disturbances.

i'd stop taking it unless its for a SEVERE panic attack. try alternative methods. there's plenty that will usually get you through a panic attack that is mild to even moderate.

i'm not a fan of this drug at all. it works great till you stop taking it.

If you can go 5 days without taking any, then you're not physically dependent. The primary concern when stopping benzos is seizures, and the risk is mostly during the first 3 days. If you feel you're using it as a crutch, I would recommend you stop using it. You're in a very good position to stop using it and will suffer very little or no withdrawal symptoms. I say quit while you're ahead.

What it sounds like is interdose w/d. Your body is starting to depend on the benzodiapines.I agree with crazin..quit while you are ahead. I'm sending you a link ..check PM ...give you some correct informative info...

Yeah, I would quit.  I took .5 for sleep, not every night and still developed a dependency that was awful to stop.  Get out while you can!  This drug is not meant for long time usage even though that is how it seems to be prescribed most of the time.
