YES you can OD on Xanax.

Why are you asking? Are you trying to get super high without ODing?  You are flirting with being in a coma if you are looking to do this. Xanax overdose can cause cause coma and respiratory failure. If you mix alcohol with it, it can kill you. That's real.

It all depends on your tolerance. How many are you taking regularly? If you dont take them regularly, then don't take more than 1/2 of ONE milligram. (.5 Mg)

Taking lots of Xanax is dangerous because when you get really high, you get sleepy- and it's at that point that you are really flirting with repiratory failure and becoming comatose.

Why in Gods name would you feel so low that you feel the need to kill yourself??!!!
Is threre not someone who you can talk to? This is not nornal behavior by any stretch of the imigination.
Before you do something really Stupid call someone you trust Listen to some people here and DO NOT take anything.
What aboutfamily ? Friends? can you, call go to and talk to them? also what would they think if you were to succede in this dumb idea?

Post if you can and talk about it before doing anything rash.  I am so sorry you are feeling so terrible.  I dont know what you are going through but I do know about that feeling of not caring if you die from pills. christine... it's the pills telling your mind you can't live w/o them! they trick you, decieve you... they want you to stay on them....you can get off the pills and live a better life! lots of people have done it! I have.... there are so many inspirational stories on here....please just keep talking to all of us.... you have us....we are here!

YIKES..  Suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem.  Don't do it, I've been where you are honestly.  Been so low that it looked like the only way out.  But things change life changes sometimes when you least expect it.  Please call someone.

things do change! I didnt believe it either and I thought I would never get through it but you would be amazed sometimes how life works out. WHen I got sober (30 days ago), I had no one and I felt so alone.  It was even harder because there was no one to be accountable too.  But, i just did it and accepted the misery for awhile.  Things did have a way of coming together.  I am by no means there yet but I have some things to look forward too that I never thought Id have and it is a relief not to be worried about how many pills I have and where i will get the next scrip from.  RIght now you feel pretty awful because you are trying to deny your body something it is used too but soon your body will get used to this and you can think about other things.  DOnt give up. The fact that you are here shows a lot about how much character you have.

This is the worst part of this forum.  By that I mean people get on here looking to quit pills and all they see is how horrible the withdrawals are and very few posts about how quitting can be done somewhat easily if you are ready and willing.  Sure there will be withdrawals but to tell you the truth it isn't all of that.  You can quit, anyone can.  Withdrawals are temporary and feeling good naturally comes quicker than many on here will tell you.  Everyone is different.  I don't like the way every posts seems to only tell the horrible tales of withdrawals and how a person has quit fifty times only to start back.  There are alot of people who beat addiction but they never return here to tell their stories, (I know there are some).  The reason is that they are out living drug free lives and loving life too much to come here.  I wish they did but it is true.  Christine don't believe the hype, you can quit these things.  Quitting isn't impossible.  MANY things are more difficult.  You can do this, and when you do, try to come back here every so often and post the good so someone can benefit from that.

After u quit...u will look back and wonder why you were so afraid....u will i promise...have u ever had a really bad case of the flu?  it passes and it will not kill u...the thing we should be afraid of is continuing to use...now that is scary....i got ur pm about quitting the tabs...overdosing on xanax is not one of the methods we discussed...i am sure u dont mean this as i think the wd causes the depression/doomers that makes us feel like we would rather be dead...remember it is the pills working on ur mind..this depression will pass...a 21 year old next door killed himself cos his girlfriend left him...21!   and this was something that would have passed had he waited it out...it passes...  wait it out

i tried the death by xanax and alcohol route. you don't want to go there. you'll just end up in the psych ward with charchol on your face. after a year i still have sezure activity. the thing is i'm really happy and regreat it all. go figure. the xanax could make you depressed if you take to much. also, they will give you rebound anxiety. so you could be defeating the whole purpose of getting better. good luck.

Christine, I hope you are kidding. Actually I am praying this thread isn't real. To want to kill yourself by pills is not the way. Both my parents did it and it wasn't pretty.

Hell I don't even know you and you can call me if you would like. I know nothing about you, but you are here for a reason and I don't think it is suicide or atleast I hope not. If you would like to have a friend just ask around here. I will be your immediate friend if you need someone to talk to.

Christine, please post back, we are worried...I know you have heard this but suicide is not the way to go. if you don't have anyone tt, call the suicide hot line or mental health in your area....Everyone and I mean everyone thinks about suicide one time or another, just pray for God to gives you the strength to stay here on this ole earth...believe it or not that are people here who care about you.... Christine..i hope you are ok. drop in and let us know that you are. suicide is not the answer to this. its not an answer to anything. nothing is worth taking your own life over. all it does is end a beautiful life and hurt the ones you leave behind. someone close to me committed suicide so i know what it can do. please dont ever think this way!

lots of support here....i felt alone during my detox as i live alone and did not tell anyone..the forum was my outlet...the people here are wonderful...u can pm me anytime u feel the need....stay in touch and keep posting
