effects of heavy cocaine use for 2 years

my cousin (age 26) has admitted to heavy cocaine use for the last 2 years in addition to abusing clonazepam pills. he has also smoked marijuana regularly for the last 8 years. he is finally asking for help and wants me to take him for a full checkup to assess how bad the drug use has affected his body. he fears his lungs and heart are in bad shape, and has unknown stomach pains which go away if he lays down. he thinks he has only a few years left to live, which I'm worried will prevent him from stopping his habit. in fact, he compared his body to a car, and is basically wondering if he's 'totaled' is body.

my questions:

1) I suspect and hope not, but is it too late for him? (i.e., high likelihood of irreversible damage and quickly worsening symptoms)
2) what can I tell him to persuade him it's not too late? any scientific evidence would be great.
3) he wants to see a specialist for heavy cocaine users, but does NOT want to go to rehab. what type of doctor should I try to find?

I greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

He is quite right cocaine is a nasty drug.  Even one time use can result in cardiovascular and brain damage , specifically in the central nervous system.  Example would be hypertensive crisis, arrhythmia, onset of Parkinson like syndrome. The use of cocaine, depending on the severity, can cause mood swings, paranoia, insomnia, psychosis, high blood pressure, tachycardia, panic attacks, cognitive impairments and drastic changes in the personality that can lead to aggressive, compulsive, criminal and/or erratic behaviors.
However, having said that, he is only 26 and his body has a lot of recuperative power. If he stops using all drugs completely (and he can) his body will eventually forgive him his abuse.
Clonazepam may need to be titrated slowly to be tepered off as opposed to stopping abruptly. He can talk to the doctor about replacing it with gabapentin for a few month to prevent apossibility of seizures. Cocaine CAN be stopped without taper. Any good internist will be able to help him recover from this addiction. He should join NA in his area and ask who the favorite docs are of the peer group. This will also help reassure him that people do recover and do well. Thankfully our bodies are not cars and we can regenerate and recover from all sorts of illnesses, injuries and abuses.
His body WILL recover if he starts taking care of it, eating right, not smoking, regular excersize, etc...
It is not too late.
Good luck.
