I am 28 weeks pregnant, i currently quit smoking pot about 3 days ago, sence i have already quit i have 13 weeks left untill i am full term is this long enough for my baby to test negative in a drug test and in a meconium test before she is born? and in the state of Arkansas what is the procedure with the testing on newborns after they are born?

No. If the meconium is positive they WILL take ur baby as well as ur other children. It is temporary and they will give you a plan,DCS, that is and as long as you do those things u will get them back. At least that's what they're telling me. I know this bc I just had a baby tues and this nightmare is happ to me. The way u. Present urself won't change matters. I have a Bachelors degree and they don't care. My other two girls are well taken care of but they took them away anyway. We are all trash in their eyes. Unfortunatey we r guilty until proven innocent.

one more question....
all my blood work and ulrtasounds have came back normal, because i smoked weed could this have any reverse affects on my baby or any abnormalities? i feel really bad for smoking and if i could take it back i would. also, if i were to talk to my doctor about this and tell him everything could that make matters worse for baby and I? i want to do what is right, but im scared of what could happen if he hasnt been testing me and dosent know. i have 2 other children that i wouldnt want to put in jeopardy by what i have done. i worry way to much. what should i do?

Please read my answer again. If they do the meconium test, it will not be negative. Meaning, it will show ALL drugs you took past the 20th week. But you  should relax they do not just take babies away from their mothers unless you give other major indicators for doing so. Behave in a measured, reasonable manner, dress appropriately, show that you are taking care of yourself, thus of the baby, I'm sure it will be fine. Develop good rapport with the doctor and talk to him. You should always be honest. Trust me they have heard it all.

does the doctor have to tell you if you failed a drug test? or will he let you just keep failing them? maybe talking to my doctor would be the best thing for me to do but could that make matters worse? i am 28 weeks and 3 days, i have already quit about 3 days ago will that help the meconium test come back negative or will it not matter, if u used u used it will show up anyways? could it have made my baby have any birth defects or will she be ok? from all my ultrasounds and blood work everything is fine. i am very concerned and i dont know what to do even all i can do is to stop which i already have done, but will that do me any good now?

Every state has different regulation and it may vary from hospital to hospital. It can also depend on your OB/midwife. What they tell you can very much depend on you, if you got regular and early prenatal care, very cooperative and followed all their instructions; if you present yourself as a caring and cared for mother to be, then there may not be any reason for them to test you. However if you or those around you send out warning signals with their presentation, dress or behavior, your health provider can very well test your baby's meconium (poop) without your consent. They can not test you without your express consent and knowledge.
You should be aware that your baby's meconium will show every drug you have used from the 20th week of pregnancy.

i am very concerned and im scared that talking to my ob will make it worse, i have been to 5 appointments and he has never said anything to be about failing a drug test, could he still be testing me? i have read that the babys meconium goes back to 20 weeks and im 2 months ahead of that i have already quit but will that help any? i dont want to get my baby taking away from me and will she be ok? please help!!!
