Alcohol Withdrawal

Hi, I'm a 36 year old female and have been drinking a bottle and half of white wine every night for the past 2 years.  My doctor has told me I have slightly elevated red blood cells and B12 levels, but I have not told him my drinking habits.  This news really scared me so decided to stop drinking completely immediately.  This is my 3rd day of not drinking, I have had trouble sleeping and have also become constipated.  Was looking on internet and saw a lot of information saying it is extremely dangerous to stop cold turkey!  Do I need to slowly cut back or carry on cold turkey?

I think you should be fine, if you are feeling OK and not having seizures by now you should be OK. Your sleep will improve with time, because the kind if sleep you very getting after a bottle and a half of wine was not healthy.
In general unless you are an alcoholic, a woman should not drink more than a half a glass of wine a day for her heart health. The rest is not beneficial for a woman's body. Moderation is the key here.
Good luck to you.

I would suggest backing off slowly try to drink 2 glasses a night and then try to quit. Stopping cold turkey only sets you up for relapse
