Please help with my addiction

I am currently addicted to oxycontins and really want to get clean. I am looking for a suboxone doctor in Ohio that is some what close to Youngstown that accepts Caresource insurance. I am desperate and willing to travel. I don't have alot of money so it's very important that i find a doctor that accepts my insurance. I would really appreciate it if you were able to help me as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your time.

I'm sorry-- I don't understand the 'allotment' issue.  Is that if a certain number of questions build up?  I will be answering more regularly in a week or two-- I have a vacation next week and so my practice is overflowing from trying to fit people in before I disappear for a week!

So much for excuses... There are a couple sites online that help find doctors that prescribe Suboxone:
http://suboxone.com/patients/resources/find_a_doctor.aspx
http://www.naabt.org/
http://buprenorphine.samhsa.gov/bwns_locator/

Opiate dependence is a horrible illness;  I 'got sober' through the steps, but after 7-8 years I relapsed and it was much more difficult to 'get it' the second time, in 2001.  I have mentioned this before:  I have lost three patients as a psychiatrist, and all three were opiate addicts; none were on Suboxone.  I know that all three would be alive if they HAD been on Suboxone.

I find that people relatively new in recovery have the 'great ideas' about how a person SHOULD stay clean...  when I talk to other older folks like myself-- people who have been around addicts and addiction for a number of years-- they tend to be more 'tolerant' of Suboxone, and have less need for arguing over whose recovery is better.  I have my 100 addicts on Suboxone, and the vast majority of them are certain they made the right choice;  most of them are moving forward in life at a pace at least as great if not greater than the addicts I see through the residential program where I am medical director, and where the treatment program does not allow Suboxone.

Sobriety based treatment is great when the addict is truly desperate;  watch for those opportunities and take them when they present themselves.  For people who haven't yet become that desperate, Suboxone offers the opportunity to quickly stabilize an out of control situation.  The person in both cases has to 'want it'.

I am sorry to add on to your thread,  but I try everynight to post a question, yet the allotment has been met, and I can never ask a question,,,,,,,      Butterfly my 21 yr old daughter has a horrid oxy addiction.  In fact when she doesnt have the monies available for oxy  she will use heroin.      Betterfly did you get out your yellow pages or check on line for the docs  that prescribe sub &  what insurance they accept?  You are making some very positive steps forward,  now you just need to find a doc,  Are you having a problem finding a suboxone doc please IM me and I will see what I can find for you,  any other major towns other than Youngstown?    My daughter is 21  with a 2 yr severe oxy addiction.....heavan forbid  I did not want her on sub based on what I read on this site,  nor with what most of her  addiction councelors and psycistrists stated  to help her in the battle of drug addiction. With therapy and non-narcotics.....     IT just didnt take,  see my daughter lost all of her dignity, self respect  and her true self worth because of thes hideous drugs.  Most parents say they will or would give their life for that of their child in a nana second...... I didnt realize there was a caveat that if is drug addiction that same sacrafice in not applicalbe......can't wrap my head around that oxy mororn!     I wanted to ask the doc if it was to soon for me to ask my daughter to sign a contract for being at home again.  I am walking on egg shells  not too push too hard   or not  to be hard enought,  such a balanceing act!  I wish  you well honey  and please if I can help you with finding resporses I will do so to the best of my ability.    Cant answer any o the medical stuff   or have a magic wand  of I would havr used it by now,  :)  Please be so very proud of the step you are taking to regain your life for health  happiness and love.  Please let me know  if I can help you in anyway.......promise...

And Dr Junig, perhaps  one night I can get my question posted here in a more timely fashion!!      Enjoy your  evening  and have a pleasant day!
