I know someone Addicted to both Speed and
CocaineDrug abuse, He does NOT like the idea
that we wan't to help him quit. He's too dependent, I'm fearing some serious
problems will arise from his usage of these drugs. He was in a band, played
wonderful guitar and now he doesn't even care about his music anymore. He also
seems really preoccupied with

I want to help, but don't know what to do, I'm younger than him. And He wont
listen and many of his friends just don't care. Me and 2 other friends of mine
are the only one's trying to help him.
My parents think I should just forget about him since he doesn't want my
help, and so do many of our friends.
But I still have to help. What should I do? I know, the obvious answer to
this question is 'get him help'.. but how do I find out about drug

help where I live? How do I find out where to take him, etc.?
Thanx

Dear Dawnfire,
Trying to help an addict who does not believe he has a problem can be
extremely frustrating. A good place to start would be a group called Al-Anon or
Nar-Anon which are probably listed in your local phone book. These are

groups for people who care about alcoholics and addicts. The people who attend
such meetings often possess much wisdom and may be able to help you gain some
insight as to how to best assist your friend.
Good luck!
