Short term methadone use

I stupidly have been using liquid methadone almost every day for about 3 weeks now. I want to stop and am wondering how bad my withdrawl will be. Seeing as that is the only reason I have kept using these last few days. I'm scared of the detox. But I'm hoping since I am not a heavy or long term user it will be short and durable. Oh and I'm not sure of how many mg I was using a day. But it was enough to get me high. Thank u for your answers. The sooner I war back the more reassured I will feel quitting.

when i was using methadone the same way as you have been doing they specalist in the hospital (i am a diabetic type 1) decided to keep me in so they could make it more comfortable for me. i was given diazapam and tramadol to help ease the discomfort but even with these i was still unbelievably uncomfortable and felt extreamley irritable.  but i did come off it quite suddenly. after i left hospital it took me about 5 months before i felt like me again. your sleeping is going to be F**cked.

No Pain No Game. unfortunatly!

The best thing to do is to taper yourself.  Start taking smaller doses??? and prolong the time between them. Make a chart and follow it. Methadone is a long lasting medication, so try going 8-12 hours between doses and cut the amount into half, then quarter every two days, then increase the time between to only at night so you can sleep for a few nights, cutting the dose even further. This should all take no more then a week. Psychologically you should not be very addicted and as soon as you are off physically, run as far as you can from this drug. It is very hard to get off off.  Don't make a mistake like that again, you end up paying dearly for them. Feel free to ask me anything if you have problems. Good luck.
