Suboxone Patient with a few questions.

Hey everyone,
I have been a suboxone patient for about a year and a half now. I have had no cravings at all whatsoever for opiates or anything to go back and be a user. I had my daughter during this process and was prescribed subutex, which I thought worked well too. Between the time that I had gotten pregnant and had my daughter I had feelings of no sex drive, no motivation, no ''gusto'', etc. I think with all this time under my belt and I take the suboxone correctly, I was just wondering what can I do to fix this. I was prescribed zofolt 50mg? Im not 100% on the dosage but I dont feel like I need an SSRI, I am depressed when I cannot get myself going. Its gotten to the point where I pretty much just sit in the house not because I want to but because I procrastinate and end up not feeling like it. Im currently taking 10mg I went back up from 8mg because the perscribing doctor thought it could also be that. So here I am with a small child and it's frustrating. I did do some research on forums and by talking to other patients and some have said taking something like adderall or something similar to that could possibly help. Which I dont want to go into the drs office and say Hey what about some adderall? lol. Seeing as I am truly trying to do the best thing here for my situation, that might not be the answer but maybe that's a step in the right direction. I have called to see a psychiatrist and they will not see me because I am a suboxone patient and thats when I got upset and fed up. I honestly have never even taking adderall. So it's not like im doctor shopping. But I have read that my symptoms along with some other behavioral problems I thought maybe that would work.
So my question(s) are, how do i go about seeing if a medication like adderall is for me? or just even asking the doctor without looking like an addict? has anyone else had similar issues?

I'm on day 14 of my suboxone withdrawals, checked myself in a 5 day opiate/alcohol detox and lied about what I was addicted to just so I could be lockdown. It was hell because nothing helped. My question is what can i do to get energy and deal with these post acute withdrawal symptoms?? I'm eating like a horse but can't gain any weight! I take melatonin and it helps a little at night. Help me please!

Congratulation on your new motherhood! It is obviously important that you are feeling happy and healthy in this new task and able to function well and transfer that feeling to your child. Depression is a common occurrence in new mothers and treating it is imperative, that is why your doctor started you on Zoloft. Unfortunately that takes time to kick in (about 4 to 6 weeks) and one of its side effects is lack of libido (that happens almost right away) , which was one of your original complaints.  Now, I must tel you that most of your symptoms can be explained by Suboxone, which is an opiate itself. Chronic use of any opiate will eventually lead to decreased lidido in both men and women, lack of  energy and vitality.  I would suggest that it may be time to think of tapering the Suboxone unless you meant to be on them for the rest of your life. I know that it will be one of the most difficult things you do, but we as mothers do a lot of hard things for our children, don't we?
When you are ready to do that you can come back and ask me for suggestion. We have helped many people in my clinic to detox from Suboxone as it is, ironically, one of the hardest drugs to get off of. If you have a minute, read a blog about Suboxone in My blogs by clicking my name in blue and then "blogs". Good luck to you.
